Galaxy Goddess

Hey Guys!

It never fails to totally escape my mind the fact the Fridays at the primary school I worked at, has P.E on Fridays. Naturally, I turn up to work looking like a heavenly goddess in this, rather than wear trainers and leggings. Practical is not a word I would use to describe my dress sense! But I had lots of compliments for my special hair and that makes me feel way better than doing exercise for an hour. HeHe!

The dress was from a New Look summer sale a couple of years ago. It's made out of chiffon, so falls exactly the way it has been cut. The shape of this dress is very boxy, so I'm always on the hunt for a new belt to pair it with. The belt I chose for today is actual vintage, since I picked it out from my Grandma's old wardrobe. Think how snazzy she'd have looked with this funky gold chain belt. Oh la la! I think my make-up suits the colouring of my look so well today. Gently bronzed cheeks are brought out by the golden accessories and the pink hues within the dress draw attention to my pink lips. Honestly, I don't know how I do it. Getting dressed has become second nature to me now, ha!

Less is More

Hey Guys!

Some days I do enjoy a good lie in. There's nothing better than snuggling into my warm bed covers for an extra 45 minutes. However, it does mean that I have to sacrifice sacred 'putting my face on' time. Today's #OOTD is a perfect example of how that sacrificed time affects the appearance of my face. I feel like its super noticeable because my eyes don't seem as defined as they are only coated with a teenie bit of mascara. It is the Benefit They're Real mascara though so y'know, nothing but the best. HeHe! If I decide to keep it real with my lashes I'll usually bring out the big bold lip colours to compensate. Here, I've used the very lovely Tanya Burr Vampire Kiss Lipgloss over a red Sleek lipliner. Sometimes it's nice to have a change and give my adoring public something different to gaze in awe upon...

Looking Like a Queen

Hey Guys!

When I put this look together, I was going for a beachy, relaxed, comfortable but cool kinda vibe. However, one of the school children greeted me in the morning with, 'Row, you look pretty. You look like a Queen!' I'm not so sure myself, but that is very high praise from a Year 5 boy indeed!

The trousers are perfect for the summer when it's meant to be bright and sunny, but it doesn't look that convincing in the morning. They are lightweight jersey style trousers with an elasticated waist and ankles. I kept the rest of my look dark so the red and green floral print really stands out. I love the floral pom pom headband from New Look! So fun and girly! I am wearing the Kate Moss Rimmel Matte Lipstick, shade 101.

As the good friend that I am, I felt y'all know about Demi Lovato's funky ditty Cool for the Summer a short while back. But today was the big music video premier. Let me just say is... HAWT!

Goldberging It

Hey Guys!

I am way too late on this ol' bandwagon but at the mo I am really enjoying The Goldbergs. I've got a nice little routine going on with Hollyoaks on E4 at 7pm swiftly followed by a half hour episode of The Goldbergs. I cannot get over the retro Eighties fashions plastered on my screen for that golden 30 minute time slot! The 1980's are an era I've always been a fan of, along with the 60's, I think it was really fun with fashion. Beverly Goldberg is one helluva woman! #NewIconAlert, hehe! Her jumpsuits and amazingly cringey jumpers are a highlight of the show.

Personally, though, it is Erica's style that I think is actually quite similar to my own. I was inspired by one of her classically 80's looks for my second day of work at a local primary school. Denim waistcoat? Check (I sewed those badges on myself, don't cha know!). Skater Skirt? Check. Scrunchie and curls combo? Check! All I needed to complete the look was a pair of colourful rollerblades and I could have been an extra on set! Also, do you remember that time I made a midnight dash to Topshop? (If not read all about it at the end of this post) I bought these sparkling 2 strap buckle shoes. Boy, do they rub, but the endless glitter makes up for the pain!

Now onto something entirely different... Karmin recently debuted their new music video for Didn't Know You, which takes on a Wild West theme to accompany the electronic-tribal sounding pop tune. However, it is their Friggin' Fantastic cover of Rihanna's BBHMM that I literally cannot get enough of! I think it's way more listenable that the original with is fun for a quick listen or two. But this jazzy number is a lot smoother whilst keeping the aggression coming through Amy's confident vocals.

Guess Who's Back?

Hey Guys!

Back again...gain...gain...

It was the end of June. Row Bow had finished uni for the year and moved back home for the summer. What does this mean? Well, if we take a look at a similar time last year, and the year before (click on those hot links!) we can see that Miss Row Bow is due for her latest shift at a local Primary School! I've been volunteering at the end of every school year since I was 15. Phew, that's a looong time ago! I have a hoot, they get a free helper- it's a win/win situation really! I started a week earlier than usual this year and went straight in with play rehearsals. The Year 5/6 kids were to put on a performance of Alice in Wonderland in only 3 weeks time, so it was time to do what Row Bow does best and take total control. Which was tricky because there was a trainee teacher working with the kids too and the play was kinda her baby, so Row just sat in the corner quietly taking note... But I did look cute doing it, as always. Every cloud, hehe!

The top was new purchase form the sale in the teen section of New Look. A couple of pounds for a t-shirt to add to my very limited collection was nothing to be sniffed at. The clay tone of the orange stripes works well with my tan coloured belts and golden accessories. If you look closely the smaller stripes are actually navy, but against the black skirt, who's really taking note? This is one of my most chillaxed looks for working at the school, especially considering it was the first day. Usually, I like to go in hard with a 'Hey, Look at me! Row Bow is back!' kind of thing. Perhaps I'm growing up! Lol, jk, of course I'm not! I'm just getting lazier!

Savage Beauty at the V&A

Hey Guys!

Being an art student means my tutors heavily 'encourage' me to go to a gazillion artsy exhibitions every term. At best I go to one a term, I just don't find the thought of them very gripping...Oops #RealTalk. Once I get there they are actually pretty cool and inspiring for my work, it's just getting me there, urgh. The most recent excursion my housemates and I ventured on was to the V&A to see the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition. Not gonna lie, it was totes amazeballs! Each room had a different theme and collection in and it was a chronological display of his work from Uni to his final Plato's Atlantis collection. Fun Fact: I studied his final collection at GCSE so it was pretty darn cool to in see all in real life. I mean, those shoes! R U 4 Realz?! My favourite room was the wooden-walled room with tartan pieces down the left and wonderful red + white looks on the right. I cannot get over the gorgeous golden head chains with red rubies hanging from them, which I think were inspired by a certain tradition of India. Nifty, hey?

Sadly you weren't allowed to take photos inside, so you'll have to Google that bit. But I looked to be a delightful addition to the collections in my cute outfit! HeHe! This was during the day before my Student Ambassador Awards at Uni. I could have planned my look so that my hair or make-up was already snazzed up for the evening. But I didn't. I rolled my hair up in two doughnut bunches and kept my make up super simple with a little red lippy. I'd basically done the least work on my face so it was a mega rush when preparing for the evening shindig! Initially I'd worn leggings under my dress, but tbh I was melting in them a teenie bit. I think the speckled grey swing dress looks much nicer with bare legs. Far more summery!

Things You Didn't Know About Row Bow

Hey Guys!

Who doesn't love a good Tag post, eh? I'd never heard of the '11 Things You Didn't Know About Me' Tag until the lovely Carmarie from Beauty Style & Charm tagged me. Thanks! So appaz, I've got to answer these eleven insightful questions about my self. Then ask my own 11 questions to 10 other bloggers. The perfect tag for somebody as nosey as myself!

What's your current obsession?
Off-the-Shoulder tops and Gypsy style tops. Both so perfect for Summer! I've bought 4 off-the-shoulder tops this summer so far...Oops!

Favourite resource (beauty, fashion, blogging etc...)
(Not really sure what this question means…Awks)

Something you can't live with out?
This is going to sound super needy of me, but, like, Oxygen… HeHe!

Short or long hair?
Long Hair! I love being able to create lots of pretty and interesting hair styles and you can’t really do that with a Pixie Crop now can you! This is what I've been rocking today, a starburst bun.

Favourite all-time lipgloss?
I'm not the biggest Lip Gloss person. I much prefer a long lasting matte lipstick. However, I have been taken by my Tanya Burr Vampire Kiss Lip Gloss, which is an intense dark red colour. It's not sticky and lasts a really long time. For something subtler I like to put a little Clinique Long Lasting Glosswear in Honey Bunch, which has a spring time peach hue.

Craziest thing you've even done?
I am literally the most unadventurous (activity wise) person that ever lived soooo…

Are you adventurous when it comes to make-up/fashion?
I like to think I am. I’ll always test run cray cray make-up ideas in the comfort of my own home when no-one is around, before I choose to debut it. Lots of my buds say I wear things they’d never be brave enough to flaunt; I hope they mean that in a complimentary way!

Favourite highlighter?
I don’t wear highlighter because I don’t really know what to do with it. But I have the Benefit Highbeam for when I’m feeling fancy.

When did you start wearing make-up?
Year 6-ish. That’s when I started playing around with the garish lipglosses that came with magazines and Plastic Doll heads. I used to wear a dark glittery purple hair mascara as an eye lash mascara because I didn’t know any better. I started secondary school wearing beautifully colourful eye shadows and did so all the way through school.

Why did you start blogging?
For a University interview project.

Who is your favorite blogger?
I really like Queen of Jetlags, La Petite Anglaise, Travelsized Supermodel and In the Frow. Man, if I could produce work as profesh as they do I’d be one happy girl!

Now it's the turn of:
Natalie (Here is Natalie's Post. I love her answer to the last question!)

to answer these hard hitting, investigative questions:
1. Do you see your blog as a hobby or a job?
2. What is your favourite part of the blog posting process?
3. What is one thing you hope to achieve by the end of 2015?
4. If you were to be the 6th Kardashian sister, what would you be called?
5. What will your OBE (honour from the Queen for an achievement) be for?
6. If you were to teach any skill or subject, what would it be and why?
7. How many lip products are currently in your handbag?
8. What are you saving up for at the moment?
9. Which Taylor Swift song describes your situation right now?
10. If you had a pet called Gertrude, what kind of animal would it be?

They're toughies but I know you can do it girls! Let me know if you answer them and I'll link it up.

I'm Wicked Through and Through

Hey Guys!

Tell them how IIIIIIIII am defffffffying graaaaavity!

Man, oh, man I love that song! Musicals are probably one of the only outings I will never say no to. My Uni are awfully lovely since they let us poor students get beautifully less than half price West End tickets! The most recent deal I made the most of was taking a trip with my housemate to see Wicked, for the second time. I'd first seen Wicked was back in Year 8, almost 10 years ago, Gee-Whizz! Weird thing is that I saw an understudy for Elphaba on that night and now fast forward to 2015 and I saw an understudy for Glinda. How funny! Sophie Linder-Lee was our Glinda and she was totes amaze! The programme showed the actual Glinda doing her thing, but I just couldn't picture anybody but Sophie flying down in the sparkly bubble.

Sadly I did get mistaken for an Usher working the theatre, dressed in my smart back look. But we can put that down to how pretty profesh I look all the time, hehe! The shirt was from Choies in an order I did last summer. But I have seen it on multiple other websites. As a lanky armed gal, I'd just like to point out for my fellows that the sleeves are a little short. To overcome this, I roll them up with EVERY look. I like the eye catching lip print all over the top in a bright red hue. I wore a very red lipstick to match my shirt's little kisses.
