Now We're Talking

Hey Guys!

Oh deary me!

I literally have no idea what I was thinking with this outfit. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s totes amaze as a look and has some really fetch components. But I was told to go into the office wearing Smart/Causal today, and this appeared on me. I finished at Top of the Pops the end of the week and started a new internship the very next Monday. It all came together on the Friday before, which is very unlike Row Bow. I normally like lots of meticulous planning so everybody is sure what we are doing. This week I was at Now! Magazine. I was met by the Junior Style Writer, since the magazine is a lot bigger than where I’d been previously, there were a lot more roles needed to create the publication. I got involved right away and began my job of clearing the Fashion Cupboard. The little weirdo that I am, I revel in tidying other people’s mess. I can be far more ruthless that with my own personal mess. Clearing the Fashion Cupboard means returning the whole of it’s contents back to where it came from. I did get a small break from this during the afternoon, as I was given the task of researching Fashion Week shows. They were very impressed that I knew they Fashion Scout shows just from seeing the timetable. Go Row!

Top of the Dots

Hey Guys!

I cannot believe how quickly my week interning at Top of the Pops magazine went. I had such an insightful time there! I learnt far more from there than I was expecting, and I can defo see myself as a Fashion Editor of a totally cute teen magazine when the time comes to find a real job. Sadly, the Fashion Editor of this magazine wasn’t in on my last day. She was living it large in Barcelona, alright for some! I’d bought a little thank you gift for her, which I placed delicately in my seat, since her cover was in her regular seat… and that would have just looked weird giving her a present after we’d literally just met and hardly spoken!

This outfit is pretty tame and chilled compared to the rest of the outfits I’d worn throughout the week. I like to think of it as proof that I can dress up for work like an actual adult. Even if I am still wearing a kids section shirt… I think wearing red in a grown up smart outfit is always a god idea. It gives a nice focus point to your look and red is a colour that looks divine on pretty much anybody! The trousers are two tone skinnies, not that you can see that in the poorly lit photos (Seriously guys, what has happened to my on point self-portraiture photography skills?). I kept the navy tones throughout the look by adding my cream and navy cardigan. The red hues are also brought out again by my shoes and good old lippy. These shoes were a charity shop find, pretty funky, hey? I also even tried out grown up ring stacking. Although this was made a tad easier as one ring had 5 rings as part of the design, #winning!

Ohemgee! Ohemgee! Ohemgee! I am soooooooo excited. Frozen Fever is out and the songs are just as magical as the film's (Don’t even get me started on how hyped I am for Frozen 2!!!). Making Today a Perfect Day is the first song I’ve heard from the featurette. I’ll admit that the theme of the song is very much aimed at little kiddies. It’s about Elsa having a cold… but she tries to give Ana the best birthday ever. We’ve all been there, right? The song isn’t as dramatic as Let It Go. I’d say it was more comparative to First Time In Forever, but a little happier with lots of funny talking interludes.

Looking Cute on a Photoshoot

Hey Guys!

With my first internship that I undertook, all I ever wanted to do was go on a photoshoot. The dream would have been a music video shoot, but I thought they'd have to get to know me and like me before we spent 24 intense hours together. I was there 5 weeks and not once did anybody mention any opportunity other than dreaded returns. I'd been at Top of the Pops magazine 3 days and already I was invited to help on a shoot. The Fashion Editor told me they only shoot once a every couple of months so I'd planned my placement perfectly! I'm not even gonna play it down. It was soooo cool being on the shoot. The Fashion Editor works for Top of the Pops and Girl Talk. This shoot was mainly for Girl Talk. I'll defo be picking up my copies for the next few issues!

I didn't really think about the practicalities of this look. It turned outo to be really useful since I had the pockets in my jumpsuit. Also with my hair out my face I means it wasn't getting caught up in accessorises. I felt rather flattered in the shoot since I had the other members of the team there all asking me: How did I get my hair like that? Where did my jumpsuit come from? I'm just such a tween icon! Hehe! It was a tad embarrassing when it came to admitting my clothes came from the same places the kids clothes for the shoot came from... But y'know, you can't all be as cool as me! My jumper is from the Lego Exhibition at The Old Trewman Brewery. My little sister is fascinated by Lego so we took we for the half term holidays. The pale grey jumper says 'ART IS NOT AN OPTION' is a red print. My sister got a black hoodie version, and the red looks much sharper on there. But I do admit to owning my fair share of hoodies and just not enough jumpers.

To answer the question as to how did I get my hair like that: I used two teenie hair doughnuts and wrapped them down high pigtails. I'm wearing a bit of orange lippy, but it isn't very clear in the photos.

Jason Deruuuuullllooooo is back with a debut single from the upcoming fourth album. I am really liking Want You To Want Me. It's starts with sounds that are quite far removed from his previous releases, but just as catchy as ever. The beginning has a very light sound, then more electric sounds infuse the chorus. The overall song is quite removed from Jason's R'n'B usual delivery. It's defo a perfect pop party tune!

Batman Goes With Anything

Hey Guys!

I must have been on my best behaviour because I made it to day three at Top of the Pops! I had to tell my tutor today where I went for this intenship. When I said Top of the Pops they were like, 'When was that? That's not about anymore.' But it definitely is still about! I was continuing more of my article writing today. The night before I went to a Next Press Day for their Spring/Summer 2015 collections. This was sooo cool and I even went home with a goody bag complete with a fluffy throw. Believe me, in a chily student house it's not the makeup my housemates were jealous about. It's defo a cosy, fluffy throw!

I wasn't really sure what to wear today. I'd worn my two planned outfits and hadn't really thought any further ahead. So naturally, I whipped on the Batman print skirt. It's always good to have a few super snazzy print pieces in the back of the wardrobe, because they make any tired morning super discreet! I also tried a little snazzier hair do (which may or may not have been completed on the tube...). I plaited two braids and pinned them over my head. Like a mini Heidi Braid, which we all know I love and adore.

I was an avid The Wanted fan from the beginning (well, from the first time they appeared in Heat mag!) and I'm not gonna lie I was a little heart broken when they split last year. Mainly because I was worried what would become of my little powerhouse Nathan? But it's all good because last week he put out a sneaky taster from his debut solo album. As well as revealing tour dates, the newly solo singer shared a lovely link to More Than You'll Ever Know from an album expected at the end of the year. It's super jazzy which really suits the tone of his voice, and you can even download it for free right now!

Pretty Profesh

Hey Guys!

I walked in the door today and the first thing I was greeted with was, 'Good Morning. You look nice.' Oh... Well... Thanks. I do try y'know. HeHe! Lucky Row was given the responsibility to write her very own articles today. How exciting! I took charge of the regular feature of Instaglam, where they publish 9 teen Instagram-ers images. It's a little tricky because you have to collate images with a look, or colour theme so they compliment each other on the page. I was surprised by how many people ignored my comments! I also started a Beauty Trend article, which I breezed through since I'd just written my own trend post!

I love my fluffy turtle neck top so much! It's just a massive shame that my washing machine broke recently and left the toasty neck damp and smelly. I've since washed it with a fully functioning machine and the smell still won't go! Any tips? When it didn't smell grim, I paired it with my purple skater skirt and grey tights. I felt that I looked a little grown up and 'professional' in this combination, so I added a cute polka-dot scrunchie to tone that down!

Today's photos have a nice vintage effect over them. Not intentionally, but because who knew my lightbulbs gave off such yellow lighting? This photo editing business is way harder than others make it out to be!

Carly Rae Jepsen is back, people! I was recently feeling a little Carly Rae shaped holed in my heart, and had her Kiss album playing. Such a good summer album (Yes, I'm starting the season early!). I Really Like You is out in summer, which means it's gonna be another Jepsen June! Starting super slow, you the classic Carly sounds start as soon and the beat and vocals start. I'm not sure if you've guessed that I'm a music terminology genius, so when I describe the beat and a clappy-yet-symbol-esque-drum sound, you'll know what I mean. I'm know. Brains and Beauty, I've been truly blessed. HeHe!

Pink Impressions

Hey Guys!

I'd like to apologise for the secession of posts in the next few weeks. The photo quality is far from the profesh outcome we've all known to love to here on What Row Chose... . But you can see what I'm wearing and the considered features of my looks, which is the initial reason why we stumbled on over here. Right? I hope that the stream of posts coming your way will help you understand why I haven't been so frequent with the old blog posts of late. I've been having a great time though, so let's jump straight in!

Uni decided at Christmas that they'd had enough of us and threw us out into the big wide world for 2 whole months, all on our own. After a being ditched by one stylist, I found solace at Top of the Pops magazine (Yes, it's still going!). I'm just going to throw it out there now, I HAD THE MOST AMAZEBALLS TIME THERE, EVER! It was so cool to be working at a magazine that I had idolised when I was younger. Even though it's all down with the kids by featuring vloggers in the mag now, it's still everything I'd hoped it would be and more. This is my first day look. I just jumped straight in by wearing an all pink ensemble. Gotta make a good first impression, right? Mine usually ends up being the cute, smiley gal. You'll recognise the pieces from my Kylie Klobber Haul, but it did slip out that was wearing clothes from the kids section today. Obviously, Top of the Pops is a tween magazine, so all the clothes featured are ultra-suitable for Row Bow!

Whoops, it's a little too blue now. But it was waaay yellower before!

It seems like yesterday a wee Conor Maynard was bubbling through the YouTube waves and making his musical debuts. But it was literally yesterday that he debuted new music, Talking About. This is the second single to be lifted for the inevitable second album, released on April 20th. Whose excited? I am! Talking About is really different from the innocent twinklings on Contrast. A lot more dancey and current to the charts.   And Craig David makes a cameo in the video, so what's not to love? It might be because it's super sunny in the video, but I'm feeling a possible top summer tune contender...
