Time For Another Beauty Box Swap

Hey Guys!

Since I've got a cheeky day off amidst the drama of London Fashion Week, I thought I'd tell you all about a recent box swap I did. After stumbling across the opportunity Sarah set up over on Ohh So Glam, I decided to get involved. I haven't done one for a year and they are super fun to put together. I was paired up with Charlotte from Basic is Beauty. After sending a few emails back and forth we put together a beautiful box of goodies and shipped them off to each other. Here is what arrived for me:

Ooooohh, I wonder what treats could be hiding in here...?

Ta-Dah! What a lovely assortment of products!

(Well, this is a great photo isn't it?!)
I mentioned to Charlotte that I love my lippy and the bolder the better is my motto. She packed a light lilac lippy which is from my favourite lipstick makers, BarryM. I'm sure you'll see me wearing this in a post soon. As you will with the silver metallic liquid eyeliner. I've used glitter eyeliners before, but I've not tried out a metallic one before. I have used this product and I think it looks so cool! The applicator is a stiff brush, but it still glides on easily and precisely.

Charlotte said that this Tea Tree collection from Superdrug was really kind and gentle on her sensitive skin, so I'm hoping it will work wonders for me. We ended up having a few things in common including sensitive skin and unruly curly hair. If it's recommended by a fellow sensitive skin sufferer, then I'm willing to give it a go. I have used the moisturiser a few times already and it smells so fresh! No reactions so far, which means it's a keeper! I'll save the face mask until I have a nice few days off when I can chill and pamper.

I'm always on the hunt for the perfect combo of hair products to get the prettiest curls. Charlotte suggested I tried out this VO5 Curl Defining Mousse after washing my hair. Charlotte's curls always look so lovely so I trust her thinking. I've just tried it and it is such a fun product to use! I had a mousse soap for the bath when I was little, you could squirt funny patterns around the rubber duckies. This mousse brings me right back to those days, as you spray it in your hands a large white mountain grown in your hands and it fizzles away. So cool!

I know you're curious about what I chose for Charlotte. Lucky for you, she's written a lovely post about that just here!

Thank you so much for my Beauty Box Charlotte!

Caped C-Row-sader

Hey Guys!

First thing: Did anybody get my witty title of the post? Caped Crusader, Caped C-Row-sader! Get it?
Second thing: I LOVE CAPES! Ok, so we're not quite talking a Batman Cape nor Superwoman-ing it. But as a super alternative to a standard winter duffle coat, they can look pretty dashing if you ask me. Mine is from Eric Dress which is a Korean based website. Because of this it did take a smidge longer to arrive, but they are just as easy to pick up in good old Blighty too!

I wore mine out for a little catch-up with my buds. My favourite thing about winter is the dark pallet that comes with it. Deep blues and rich reds look so sophisticated and when wearing them it's probably the only time I look my age! This particular evening I chose a cute, ribbed crop top in navy and a brilliant burgundy skater skirt. I love the blend of warm and cool colours in this look, but since they're all in dark tones they go so well together. I tried out the Nails Inc Matte Nail polish again (Have you seen my review about it?) to give it a second try. But, nope... I still don't like it.

London Luncheon

Hey Guys!

So I was meant to be interning at the beginning of January all the way until the beginning of March, but that all went pear shaped so I went for lunch with my friends instead. Equal Trade, right? I was lounging about at home for weeks, so it made for a nice change of scenery. Now that I live in London, I don't actually do many touristy things (apart from this and this). I was awful at suggesting places they could have a mooch around, but I did find us a nice place for lunch. Southbank, along the river, has lots of restaurants so we were spoilt for choice. Since we all love a good student deal, it was off to Giraffe we went! Delish!

If only we'd had a selfie stick to make this a proper tourist photo

I love the colour combination of this look. Initially, I threw on the red dress and red jumper thinking that was the look. But the colour blocking continuation with my bold blue coat and purple scarf works really well too. I'm just such a pro at getting myself dressed now, HeHe! The jumper was a sale purchase from H! by Henry Holland at Debenhams. I love Henry Holland's collections, and always have a gander when it comes to end of season things. But I always forget to look at his Debenhams collection. There are some total bargs there that I've defo been missing out on. Not Cool! It is soooo chunky and thick. It's like my usual 4 layers all combined into one. How masterful! Naturally, since I was working the bright reds today, I had to wear my fluro-orange laced trainers. They go EVERYWHERE with me. Nice job there Tesco!

Thanks Auntie Val for the toasty scarf. It kept me looking wonderful and warm!

More Raiding Through the Sales

Hey Guys!

Welcome to part two of my Christmas sale haul/pretty late thank you letters. Below are purchases from the sales in H&M and New Look. Enjoy!

Orange Printed Playsuit, H&M
I was 'ummming' and 'ahhhhing' about this particular piece because I thought it was pretty unique, but it wasn't really winter appropriate attire. I've had a thorough talking to myself that I should invest in winter wardrobe pieces instead of ALWAYS pre-planning for the warmer months. But then the one jumper I tried on was a little pricey for what it was so I said since I wasn't getting anything else this was obviously meant to be mine! Ended up being even cheaper at the til, so I probs could have got that jumper too in the end. Oh well! Better luck next time Row!

Black Floral Print Trousers, New Look
I am such a fan of these elasticated ankle style trousers. They are really confrtable and quite slouchy really, however a snazzy pattern makes any outfit look like you tried harder! Also since they are a rather baggy style, I can hide a pair of tights underneath them without them clinging in the winter months. Winning!

Red and Black Collared Print Dress, New Look
The eagle-eyed amongst you will recognise this dress from my last performance at work post. I was so desperate to wear it I couldn't wait to get round to photographing the haul first. It is a rather lovely dress and the print is a classic baroque like design. Red is defo my colour, as are collars, so I couldn't really ask for anything more from the dress!

Thank you to Angie and Gordon and Grandma for providing the funds to be able to raid the Christmas sales! Without out you, I wouldn't have ren able to attempt to expand my winter wardrobe... But end up with more summery pieces!

Kylie Klobber

Hey Guys!

I have been one busy girl lately! First I think I've got the whole of January and February to myself, then I went to work at school for a week, then I'm interning at one magazine and now next week I'm off to another. Phew! But lucky for you, I have managed to find a spare moment to blog and show you the start of my christmas sale goodies. It's will be no surprise to any of you that the first place I stopped at was Kylie, the teen section at M&Co.

Electric Pink Textured Skater Skirt
I do love a good skater skirt and this vivid pink one is the perfect length. Sometimes they can be a little short, but I really like this longer length skirt. There is a decorative graphic zip at the back, which caught me out at first. It's just for show since the skirt is actually elasticated.

Heart Print Jumpsuit
Trousers are usually a risky area in the kids section. My legs are a little long to fit into them. But here Kylie have really excelled themselves. This all-in-one jumpsuit is sooo comfy and fits like a glove with out being restricting.

Pink Floral Print Long Sleeved Crop Top
What a lovely little crop top! I think long sleeved crop tops are a little more grown up that having a strappy little one. I feel like this started out a bit aztec-y then someone came along and added a whole bunch of flower motifs!

Lightweight Polka Dot Denim Pinafore
I think this is the cutest purchase of the haul. I love pinafore style dresses, and to have one in denim puts me in the best summer mood. The 'denim' is probs actually faux, but it still looks great because it gives a bit of a lived in feel to the colour.

What do you think of my new purchases? Pretty cool for the kids section, hey? Thank you Uncle Chris and Auntie Jen for donating to the kids clothes for Row fund! (I'm so high tech with blogging thank you letters! Even if they are a bit late)
