Fabulously Foxy

Hey Guys!
I'm not gonna lie one of the main reasons for choosing Middlesex as the Uni I want to spent the next 3 years of my momentous life at, was the fact it it literally next door to Brent Cross- another holy grail of shops! It's only a quick bus or train journey and is faaarr too accessible to me. I suppose its good for when I need to get little bits and bob for my styling shenanigans but for my Student Budget it's not so good. I think I've been every week since term started! I spent all my weekly budget in the first week, so I may have to pay bills at the end of the month in the form of jumpers and skirts.

But before the bills need to be paid let me show you what I bought. The pretty plummy pink fox jumper was purchase number 1. I also got another jumper and a little top and the polka dot skirt I posted about the other day. I wore this as a uni look in my first week of actual lessons. I love the jumper, it's soo soft and the embroidered design is really playful. I did have to go up a size to what I'd usually get. My normal size fitted but didn't have the baggy fit which I was wanting from the jumper as I tucked it to the skirt. I bought the pink ring-bracelet combo from New Look over summer and hadn't worn it until now. But since I'd added a silver belt to the skirt I thought now was the perfect time to whip it out.

I first heard about the artist Zedd when the MTV VMA's were on the tellybox. He was nominated for a newcomer award I think and the little clip they played of his music sounded uber catchy. So I had a little look for it and firstly had Clarity ft. Foxes on loop. But now my uni buddy has informed me that he also did a song with Hayley Williams, of Paramore fame. This song is called Stay the Night and now this is my always on loop song. I'm defo going to explore his back catalogue (well, that sounded mildly sexual, whoops!)

Floral Princess

Hey Guys!
There comes a time in ones life when you just have to accept that you look like a princess. When I wore this look to work that moment came and I am fully embracing it! The orange floral crown is from my Prairie Charms haul, check that bad boy out here. Because it looks like a crown of flowers all the little budding theatricals exclaimed that I looked like a Princess and how wonderful that was. I'm not once to blow my own trumpet, yeah right, but I think complete with the pink lipstick I totally am rocking the princess attire! Well, until you look at the rest of my outfit.

I think it's a good outfit, fo' sho', but its not your typical  princess ball gown. I really like how all the tall slim models can wear these clingy, ankle length black maxi-like dresses. But I'm defo not of that build yet. There's hope for me though, I found another aide to my quest for the perfect figure and it's called a gym. But that costs money and takes effort. So for now I'll carry on wearing the  long dress with a black slip underneath which means that it doesn't show off a VPL and skims more than clings over the tum. A tutor at uni wore an identical dress the other day and looked totes amazeballs in it. She teamed it with black tights and clunky brogue style shoes and her platinum blonde pixie crop. Soo cool, Effortlessly fab! I wore mine with my brand spanking new H&M jacket that only cost £15! Love a bit of a sale! The combination of the dress and jacket gives off a quite grungy feel, and by wearing my little spiked toe trainers I think I exaggerated this.

And basically that's how you look like a princess. I taught Kate Middleton everything she knows! You're welcome, hehe!

Little Uni Look

Hey Guys!
Here is a little Uni look for you today and since I'm a Fashion Student you should all listen to me because I obvz know what I'm talking about... JOKE! I have learnt VERY quickly that I am extremely uncool in fashion terms and I am going to have to learn to turn ma swag on if I'm going to get anywhere! We have a lesson once a week where we have had to for the past 2 weeks, share our favourite things in the industry and arts & music. But when the lecturer said favourite he meant cool and new and things other people have never heard of. What was I meant to do? This is Row Bow the totally un-cool, mainstream, Disney-lover who just likes pretty things! But others managed to share their findings and so I've got those to research. I did say a few things others hadn't heard of giving me a few (but not many) cool points. I shouldn't really complain thought because our first project is to visit a list of loads of shops- every girls dream homework! Then we have to blog about it so it's not all bad.

Student Finance have been faaar to good to me since I've been here which means I can afford a little trip to the shops to treat myself every so often (But that really has to stop soon because it's become every week which is far more frequent than every so often!). This dotty skirt is a new purchase from the New Look sale recently. I love the waist as I think it flatters really well and I have a sneaky suspicion that it's the fact there is a big zip at the back, rather than just being elasticated. The way the rest of the skirt fabric falls and is a gathered full skirt create my 'ult fav' skater skirt style piece. It's so girly and floaty, added bonus is that it flares as you twirl (necessary in day-to-day life y'know) Yay! I've teamed it with the denim shirt which can be a little tricky to wear once you decide your signature Denim Shirt style. The rolled up sleeves keep an element of femininity to the look as the full denim skirt all buttoned up can look a little funny on me. It also mirrors the waistband of the skirt nicely and we all know how I like my matchy-matchyness in an outfit. I kept the rest of my look plain black so that the bold polka dot print of the skirt would stand out more and the blue denim shirt was the only boost of colour.

College Chum Catch-Up

Hey Guys!
This uni work is getting quite frequent now, who knew they expected you to work? As a consequence my blog posts have been severely lacking so soz about that! But here I am with a little outfit from a spontaneous dinner date with an old chum from college. Such an unusual occurrence it is that I decide in the moment to go out that my chum didn't even believe it when I said yes! As we were reminiscing about good ol' college times, she recalled a time when we were discussing life in general. Lisa said,"You know what Row, the best times in life are spontaneous. When you just go with the flow!" And in typical Row Bow fashion I go, "No babes! That is not the way to have fun. I don't know what you're talking about. I need a plan and I need structure to my life." Listen to me, such an old woman!

I decided to wear this pretty purple dress because it was long sleeved and it was a wee bit chilly recently. Not sure if you noticed that St. Jude storm shenanigans that flew past, but that was the weekend after this so it was a little breezy to say the least. (Oooh-Err! Look at Row Bow getting in a little current affairs into her blog post) To contrast the deep purple of the dress I added a long cat-print scarf which I never get to whip out! It sits really nicely with the pearl necklace I wore underneath. Natch I had my tights and leggings combo to keep me toasty, but I wore this with little black dolly shoes. As soon as I got on the tube I was really wishing I'd worn my long brown boots as they would have gone so nicely with my brown aviator coat, but maybs next time. Signature Row Bow Bright Pink lippy and Woo-Hoo ready to soc-al-ise!

As Lisa said, getting my Tyra Banks on to the right.

This album has been out for a week now but I cannot stop hitting that repeat button! Union J's creatively named debut album Union J is finally available for me to get my grubby little mitts on (I mean well cleansed and beautifully polished mitts, this is Row Bow we're talking about!). The album has a little mix of a few different sounds but with the overall Union J vibe to it. Soon to be making their way onto my most played playlist are Loving You is Easy, Where Are You Now and Save the Last Dance. Time to get this part-ay started riiiiight?!
