Hair Chalking

Hey Guys!
I keep changing my mind as to whether I want to dye my full head, or maybe dip dye, or ombre (similar thing). If I want it blonde, purple or pink. It's just too many decisions to decide! So after having a reasonably lazy afternoon yesterday I thought maybe I should just try out some colours in my hair and see what works best. I did this all without using any hair dye! But Row Bow, how did you manage to achieve such results with no dye? The answer is... I used chalk. Regular, plain old chalk. (Well, that is a very small lie. It was actually Soft Pastels as they were bigger and have more vivid colours) The great thing about using chalk is that, for an art student especially, it's something I always have just lying in a draw waiting to be used. It means I can test out one colour one day and switch it up really easily the next day. I watched Kandee Johnson's video on this AGES ago, and I watch Helen Melonaldy's video yesterday. I just couldn't resist having a go myself!
In case your internet can't handle a video right now (mine has it's moments!) I've written a simple step-by-step of how to chalk your hair. I don't have any process photos because I wasn't too sure it was going to work. And my hands got a little messy!

How to chalk your hair:
You Will Need:
-Chalk/Pastels. Lots of bold and bright colours
-Spray bottle with water or heat protector in
-Your hair
-Gloves (although I didn't use them I think its a good idea)
-Mirror
-Towel (and/or old clothes)
-Possibly a sink to do it over
-Hair Dryer/Straighteners/Curling Tongs

1. Wrap a towel around your shoulders to protect your clothes from the wet colour. Its probably best to do this in your bathroom, but I just did it in front of a mirror in my room.
2. As my hair is really curly, I didn't brush it before hand as it would have gone frizzy. But if you have brushable hair I would suggest make it as smooth as possible so it is easier to get a even coverage. If you have curly hair like me, we just have to work the colour a little more.
3. OPTIONAL STEP. Depending on your layers it might be easiest to pin up the top half of your hair and colour your hair in two sections. This is what I did.
4. Pop your gloves on. (I didn't do this but I hate the feeling of chalk and I really wish I did use them) Get a small section of hair, couple of inches, and spray it with the water or heat protector. Kandee used water, but Helen used heat protector. I think it's good to use heat protector as you have to apply heat to seal the colour anyway. So you might as well protect it before hand. It's the moisture you need to keep the colour on the hair. So it's not be all and end all is you use water.
5. Keeping the wet section in your hand choose your desired colour, mine was purple, and start colouring in your hair. I used downward strokes so it doesn't bunch up the hair. Once you've coloured all around the hair, you can release the top section of hair that was pinned up and repeat the process.
6. I used a Hair Dryer to dry my newly coloured hair and it meant I could keep my natural curls with the look. Use your hand to move the hair about, if you use a brush I think the chalk will come out. If you have smoother hair, after blow drying you hair you could use straighteners or a curling tong. I would defo blow dye first, so you don't ruin the plates in the other styling tools.
Ta-Dah!

7. To remove the chalk simply rinse it out with water. I only coloured the tips, but when it's all wet I forgot how far up I'd coloured so I had to rinse the whole of my head to make sure I had it out. But my hair was still left a little dry so a full shampoo and condition and it should be back to normal.

The chalk does come out easily if you lean on it and it makes your hair feel very dry and dusty, but hey, it looks cool! I think had I straightened it, it would have been much smoother.
I love it! I think if I try out another few colours I'll soon be decided on what colour I want to do my hair. Or maybe I'll stick to chalking it forever and ever!

Really quickly before I go, a new track by The Saturdays has had it's premiere. Disco Love is the third (4th if 30 Days makes it on) song from The Saturdays up coming album. I do like the song but I feel it seems a bit easy compared to the more creative previous What About Us? and Gentleman. The video look really good with the girls going through the different era. I love the 1990's set up. My childhood. I have probably rocked each of the girls looks at some point in my childhood. But I won't be looking for the photographical evidence!

Home is Where the Wi-Fi Connects Instantly

Hey Guys!
This is an outfit of the day from when I travelled back home from holiday earlier in the week. I decided to wear my new pretty dress from Primark. I look pretty dressed up for a 7 and a half hour squashed car journey. And I did get lots of looks at the service station, where we took them. But they were probs just well jel that they didn't try hard enough to be taken note of along the motorway on their travels. HeHe! I chose to wear the dress mainly because, as I explained in my first on my holiday posts, I don't like anything fitted around my tummy when travelling. The dress is nice and loose and flexible to I could contort myself into different positions to fit myself around the luggage in the car. It was like a giant, human game of family Tetris!
I wore my floral crown again since I didn't want it to snap underneath other heavy items. I think it actually goes well with the dress as it ties in with the whole floral/girly vibe. The white cardigan is something to wear as a cover up if you were to wear this at a late afternoon picnic. So as it gets late and cooler its something to throw over the top. But I think the dress looks much nicer without the cardi as you can flaunt the dress to its full potential! I think that the blue is a bright shade and pops so well in contrast to my greyer surroundings. The cut out design at the front is replicated at the back. I wouldn't normally like a cut out back, but as its at the top I think it's much sweeter. Less slutty. Although it does mean you have to be weary of the sneaky awkward tan line! Nothing a bit of sun tan lotion won't sort out.
My sunglasses are also new from Primark. They look better with my fringe down. The trainers are my go to travel shoe (mainly because they won't fit into my fully packed bag!), but I don't think they look too out of place with this outfit. Obviously they wouldn't be my first choice to go with the dainty dress, but they don't create too much of an eyesore.

I've just realised every component of my outfit (except the shoes and watch) is from Primark. It goes to show you don't have to look scruffy if you're a cheapskate. You can actually look quite nice.
(Excuse the creases at the bottom of the dress. I'd only been squished up for 2 and a half hours at this point.)

The music for this post isn't new, but every time I think of it I have to listen to it straight away! It's Beyoncé- Why Don't You Love Me? I love the retro sound of it and the emotion (it's not blubby wailing, but the passion and anger she sings with I suppose). The video is probs one of my all time faves EVER! The styling is super cool, it had a sexy 50's vibe going on. I didn't realise how old that song is, but it will never get old to me. I'm not even that much of a Beyoncé fan, but there's not denying she's good at what she does.

Yeah, We're Gonna Shop, Shop, Shop, Shop 'Til We Drop!

Hey Guys!
This was the bigg'un. The mammoth shopping trip that I had been psyching myself up for all week. The glorious trip to Livingston Shopping Centre! Dun, Dun, Duuun! It had not one, but at least 2 humongous shopping centres. Better yet one is a huge designer outlet, meaning everything is really cheap and massively discounted. Then the other is a mahoosive shopping centre which always has big sales on since we holiday around the time the schools there go back. In the outlet I try to make a start on my Christmas shopping, but I wasn't to inspired so I just bought a few essentials for me. £15 for 3 quality M&S bras, not bad. I go for quality and longevity with my bras, so M&S is the only place for this gal to go. I feel a fraud going to Bravissimo, I can't contend with their customers. I was far more successful in the regular shopping centre, sensibly named 'the centre'. I never usually shop in GAP, but I found a soft basic white long sleeved top, with navy stripes. Very Nautical. I also popped into a shoe shop with some crazy sizes going on because I ended up getting a pair of size 5 trainers. I couldn't even get my tiny feet in the size 3. Only have I ever done that before in the kids section of Primark! They are the coolest trainers though! White, with silver bits and sparkles and the top part over the toes is covered in spikes. I'm sooo gangsta! Finally we found the holy grail that be Primark. I wondered in and found immediately found the sale rail. I've realised my route around any shop is determined my the layout of the sale rails. I'm like a magnet to those bad boys! I instantly fell in love with a beautiful watercolour flower print summer dress. But put it back as it was very girly, and thought I should be looking for 'cool' things to fit in at Uni. Once we'd delved into the deepest depths of Primark, i.e the tills I was super miffed that I hadn't found anything I was madly in love with. Mumma Bow suggested that nothing would make me happier than buying that dress and sent me back to the top of the store to get it. She knows me so well and was totally right. Once I had my pretty girly dress in my hands I was picking up allsorts. Including 2 pairs of the same sunglasses, one in purple + one in green (50p each #winning) and a pack of lovely hair slides. And that was my shopping trip complete. I defo shopped 'til I dropped. Struggled to stay awake thought dinner. It was Chinese as well, but I just couldn't keep my eyes open!

My outfit is pretty standard, but check out my new cardigan. Where is it form I hear you ask? Kylie at M&Co of course. Would it be from anywhere else? I love the neck line on it, how it curves quite low and frames around my hair. It's also pretty thick to good for winter, since it has two colours running through it. The little nautical boats are so sweet, and the bolder blue brings a modern twist to the S/S nautical trend.

BIG MUSIC NEWS! Conor Maynard has dropped is stonker of a tune, R U Crazy? Now I'll be the first to admit I HATE when people use R instead of are and U for you, obvz. I feel disgusting when I have to do it in tweets. So instantly I wasn't too interested when Conor started causing a little bit of a frenzy by tweeting it, hashtaging it, making people take note of the phrase. But now that the video is released, woah, well I won't ever complain if Conor uses the annoying grammar any more! The song starts a little jazzy, reminiscent of will.i.am's Bang Bang. And in the video he wears a relaxed suit, with just the waistcoat and the bow tie undone. Obvz, he has other clothes on but just not the whole tux sha-bangs. Then it takes a dancey, dubsteppy (?) vibe. He gets a little Mandem G on us and it's instantly clear how he's matures musically (and physically I'll add!). The lyrics are really simple and each verse is basically the same. But they are so catchy and easy to learn. The track is with Labrinth and his influences are really clear. I like the effects he puts on the smoking bit and after that. He even pops on the track for a few little words of his own.
Warning: For the middle-8 -is it still called that?- in the video things get a little 'cover you eyes kids' and easily-jealous-girls/OMG-Conor-is-mine-and-I-ain't -eva-gonna-let-anyone-get-there-(h)'ands-on-(h)'im kinda girls should look away. But I just think he looks super hot. I like the styling in the corridor shots. It's only been like 8 months since the last vid, but I just can't get over how now he actually looks nearly 21.  You won't catch me doing that, I'll be wearing Kids clothes 4 lyf mate, hehe!

Oops, that was a bit of a tangent. But what a beautifully long post to make up for the lack yesters.

Sunday Market

Hey Guys!
This Sunday I went to the local farmer's market to see if I could pick up any bargains. Last time I came I managed to pick up a decent sized purse for only £2.50. I was looking for a new purse because after 3 years, well 2 with the fastening actually working, the £2.50 purse had had it's best really. I was also tentatively keeping an eye out for a snazzy satchel for Uni in September. I love a good market and car boot because it you get such good deals and I like that it isn't full of big brands and labels. I did manage to find a purse, almost exactly like what I was wanting. I really like the Ted Baker colourful taxi print purses, but with them being £99 I'm not sure I could class is as a necessity. One stall had a selection of purses and amongst them was a similar designs to the Ted Baker design. For only £10. I still had my heart set on the real TB piece so I was Umming and Ahhhing at the stall, so she let me have a £1 off if I took it. Yay Me! This is the Ted Baker Purse. Image Source Here.
And this is my purse...
Pretty matchy-matchy, hey?!

The top I wore is a new one from my Kylie haul yesterday. It has neon yellow and orange dotted stripes running across it. Depending on your computer screen, I'm not sure how clear it is since they are so tiny. It is a little cropped for the height of the trousers, so I wore a  little vest underneath it. Unfortunately you can see it peeking though in of the photos. Now, usually I would have looked through the photos and re-shot them. But as I went to take my photos against a market-like background, i.e. one of the stalls, the trader decided to become director of the mini-shoot. He moved me to the backdrop he thought would look best then was telling me to smile more and pose. Then when I took my cardi off he thought I was stripping. He was a little too friendly for my liking! After my photos he almost went for my Mumma and tried to chat her up. He was like, "Now for one of me and Mum. Ahh, Dad would not be happy, no? Then you get kicked out and I find where you live..." #Creepy! I swiftly removed her from the awkward situation.

Just a Little Bit More Shopping

Hey Guys!
After two busy days making trips into the city, we decided to have a quite day bumbling about the town instead. It's a very shirt walk into the town centre from where me and the fam are staying, so it means there's no long walk back to the car struggling with heavy shopping bags. I made the most of this and may have splashed out a little in M&Co. Yes, as you see from my photos below I may have gone a little wild in the teen section, Kylie. Back at home the M&Co have had a little switch-a-roo and the Kylie section is much smaller and now sans Sale Section. Instead reduced to a small rail. Oh, the Horror! But here on holiday the Sale Section was rather plentiful and it was all in my size. Hooray! (Well, I say my size. We all know the highest it goes is 13+ and I'm just 13+ a few more figures than I'm sure the shop intends!) I did try on a couple of dresses which I'll admit were definitely a wee bit on the short side, but the jumpers and cardigans are super finds. I wouldn't say I'm particularly small, but I am particularly skint and scrooge-like. I'll show you the pieces I bought as I wear them. I got 2 cardis, a jumper, a pair of jeans, some super dope trainers and 2 pairs of earrings (starting early on the old Christmas shopping!) all for only £38. You just need to know where to look and you'll find a total barg! I read the receipt afterwards and it said it would have been £100 exactly if they weren't all in sales. Phew, I saved myself a pretty penny there didn't I! (Although, i'm pretty impressed for getting £100.00 spot on.)
It was a bit dark and dreary yesterday and ended up raining just before we took the photos. You can tell I didn't take a holiday trip to the sunny shores of Barbados with the weather I've been reporting. I kept it very simple as it was quite a lazy day really. But I thought I'd keep you in the loop of my holiday and then it's also like a little diary for me. I wore my leggings, a baggy batwing-style pink top and a black cardigan. I decided to belt the top to make it look like I had put some sort of effort into my look. In my hair, I decided to wrap the scarf from earlier in the week, around it. I hoped it would show you how versatile one piece could be, which is essential for holiday packing. I made it into a big bow for Row Bow, yay!

Oops! Classic Row Bow, doing her coat up on the wrong buttons. Nice work. It's hard work being me y'know, HeHe!

We also went into some charity shops about the town, and as well as picking up Sex and City film for less that £2, I bought... Drum Roll Please...The Britannia High CD. Woo-Hoo! Party at my place! I'm not ashamed to say I've had it on repeat since I got it. So that's my music note for this post. My fave songs on the CD are Picking Up the Pieces, Watch This Space and Changing Man. I also like Overnight Sensation and You Got Nothing On Me, but they're not on the disc.
Oh, Good Times!

Not an Orange Wednesday

Hey Guys!
We had a second day in the city where we went to see a little (I mean VERY little) show. I did not enjoy it at all, so I won't name and shame. Basically, thought I was a little Whovian, turns out I'm really not! After that we had a picnic-like lunch and then were meant to go for a little shop about the time. When is there ever not an appropriate time to shop? But as the fam were waiting in a posh coffee shop, Big Sister decided to take nearly 45 minutes to 'pop in and pop out' of the shop she wanted to go to. So that ruled out any Row Bow shopping time. Hurrumph! Instead we had a look at a little (again, I mean VERY little-it was along the corridor of a couple of flights of stairs) print exhibition.
It was a funny day. Weather wise, it was one of those cardi on, cardi off, cardi on, hoodie on, hoodie off, rain mac on. Cray, Cray! I've gone very orange in my look for today. I brought the orange crop top with me as I was convinced it might be quite warm. I was very wrong. But it's not too chilly with a white cardigan and orange floral hoodie with it. I wore tight underneath my leggings as I was concerned of a potential VPL. The top doesn't really cover my bum, just skims it really hehe! But with the addition of tights I feel suitabley covered. After my revelation yesterday, it think most of my outfits this week will be with my trainers. But hey, maybe you'll be able to see different coloured socks peeking out around my ankles. Today they were black. Fun Fact!
My fringe is not playing game in this weather so I french braided it along the top of my head to keep it out of the way. I put in a golden plaited headband to match the braid. To spruce up the look I added my golden spiked necklace and a ring. It shows that those kind of necklaces work with other tops apart from just collared shirts and dresses. I've even got my orange lippy to blend in with the orange theme.

Things Art Students Do

Hey Guys!
It was time for a bit of culture (or Cult-cha as me Mammy say). I went to an art galley in the city which had a couple of interesting exhibitions on. The first one we went to go see was 'Coming into Fashion : A Century of Photography at Condé Nast'. It was a gallery of lots of images from different publications that are part of the Condé Nast group. Mainly various editions of Vogue. Some of the images were really interesting as they dated all the way back to 1913, so I saw some of the first images the would have been published. I took lots of notes on the ones I liked, so I'm all prepped for next year when they say I'm not allowed to use the internet to find pictures. Life gets tough at Uni, Kids!

I decided to wear one of my new tops, from USC, since I absolutely love it. The colour is nothing like anything else I have in my wardrobe. I wore it with some standard jeans and a black cardi. I realised this morning that I accidenally forgot to pack any other shoes apart from my dolly shoes and these trainers. Whoops! I remember looking for other shoes, but then I must have got distracted and gone looking for something else. Easily done.
For the first time ever I have actually decided to bring accessories with me on holiday! I never normally do. It just slips my mind. I put on a silver and blue necklace on, which has similar blue tones as the top. I also appear to have packed a lightweight scarf. Check me out! I think the plum purple colour goes really nicely with the aqua tones of the top. A slick of fuchsia pink BarryM lipstick and I was ready to face the day. I've got my glasses on it the piccy, they make me look intelligent and as if i'm truly fascinated by the composition of the pieces which reflect to fashionable nature and really explores the hidden meaning of the works. #thingsartstudentssay

I also went to an exhibition in the afternoon called Witches and Wicked Bodies, which was about...well...Witches. It had a collection of early etchings of Witches and lots of information about how witches were seen and what they supposedly did. I didn't know that witches were thought to have rubbed a disgusting concoction, including crushed bones of unbaptised infants (grim), over themselves which allowed them to fly. I thought they just happened to be able to fly, who knew? There was one large modern photographic piece which was by an artist Cindy Sherman. This is a lady I studied at AS/A Level, she uses prosthesis in lots of her work but I didn't. My little sister was a little shocked when I pointed out that this was who I was trying to be. Below is an image of a piece of modern art outside the gallery. It was on the front of my handbook for my Art Foundation, but I still managed a Merit!

Jessie J's new tune, It's My Party has been making it way onto the air waves recently and now it's even on my tellybox. It reminds me of Domino, that kind of happy-party-boppy feel. I still find it weird when songs mention Twitter or Tweeting since I still think it's quite a new thing! (I'm such an old woman). I'm actually quite excited for her second album, it' sounding good so far. Also, I've noticed that there has been a trend for artists to release a big song for their first from the album, then a slow one for their second-usually to show a variety. But I'm liking that there a change, and many acts are just going for the party tunes as singles. Wild and It's My Party are the perfect examples.

S-h-o-p-p-i-n-g, We're Shopping!

Hey Guys!
I believe the rule is that on your first day of any holiday, you must go shopping! Naturally, I obeyed this rule and headed off to a reasonably sized shopping center. I say reasonably sized because I planning a stonker of a shopping trip at the end of my holiday, so this is a baby-sized center compared to that. Nonetheless, I managed to pick up some bargains from New Look and USC. We don't have a USC back home and I only found out about it a couple of years ago. They had some major discounts going on then, like £40 down to a fiver. But this time I think they've slightly down-sized so they don't have so many bargs. They do have more brands that I've actually heard of now, like Motel Rocks. I managed to pick up a long-sleeved, aqua blue crop top and a slouchy, ribbed, grey cropped vest top. I'm sure I'll wear them in the near future and post them soon. I also found a really cool Ear Cuff from New Look. The best part is that it said £2.50 on the tag and said only £1 at the till. It's one of the ones that hooks around the back of your ear and has long dangly chains.
There's not much to really say about my outfit. It's quite relaxed. I went for pastel colours for the base of my look. A long dark cardigan makes a nice contrast in the look.

On the Road Again...

Hey Guys!
It's that time of year, again, for the annual family holiday trip up North to see more of the Row Bow family. This involves a 7-8 hour drive, all in one go, from the bottom to the top of the country. Fun, Fun, Fun I hear you cry! I'm not gonna lie doesn't come very high on the list of 'Best Parts of the Holiday'. I fell asleep practically as soon as we set off, which I always find embarrassing since there's a chance somebody I know will see my sleepy face drooling through the window, as we drive through local areas... Who am I kidding, I'm adorable when I sleep, HeHe!
I always think that a dress is the best attire for a long drive/travel. I always panic I'll need a wee or feel sicky, so this way there's nothing pressing on my little tummy to aggravate it. Also, it means you can keep well ventilated and nice and cool in an otherwise stuffy car. I wore this light cotton dress and cardigan. Although I was cooped up in the car for such a long time, I did have a half an hour slot mingling with the outside world so I decided to put some sort of effort into the look. I wore the white cardigan with the dress last time, see it here. I think it makes for a much lighter appearance, instead of a longer baggy black cardigan. Also, I much prefer the dress without tights since its so floarty and lightweight. I loosely wrapped a belt around the waist to give a new look to the dress. I'll admit it, I'm not sure the trainers and bright pink socks go particularly well with the dress and rest of the look. However, they are good and sturdy for when you initially step out of the car, having been squished up for 4 hours, and need something steady to balance with. They support me well!
I decided to whip out the floral headband as I think the sublet tones are a nice way to infuse some colour into the look. I layered two golden pendant necklaces as I didn't think one was clear enough to see. I have a Tinkerbelle one- from the actual Disneyland- and my Paper Crane Necklace on. The darker red lippy is a good accent colour to the predominantly monochrome pallett (if you don't count the bright pink socks!)

So I'm sure you'll have heard the two new songd from two of the niggest musical superstars on the planet. If not, I'll fill you in. Katy Perry has her song 'Roar', which is about her bouncing back from her previous break-up and Lady Gaga has her new tune 'Applause' which is about... Her? An applause? Lots of people have had their two pence worth and I thought I'd give you mine too. I much prefer K-Pez as an artist compared to Lady Gaga. I'm not a fan of the way Lady Gaga puts herself across as a work of art and claimed Applause was the song of the decade- when it defiantly isn't anything that special. But, having said that, I do actually like Applause a little more than Roar. Roar is a great song, but Applause has the whole cheesy pop vibe going one, which is right up my street. One thing I'm not a fan of is I think she refers to herself as the Koons (the lyric video looks like it spells it this way) as in art in German but it's actually spelt Kunst. I didn't get my A in GCSE German for nothing! So could someone clear that up for me?

Chi Chi Wishlist

Hey Guys
So e-tailPR are running a little competition with the young, fast fashion brand Chi Chi. You can enter too and find out the deets here- Chi Chi Blogger Competition. I love competitions and I love online window shopping so I thought I'd show you my Chi Chi wishlist. I've selected 4 of my favorite dresses from the website.

First of all, I love the fact that each dress has it's own name. I think that it makes the dresses seem more personal, especially as some designs are 'created and made in house, so when you wear a Chi Chi dress, its practically exclusive to you!' The dresses in my wishlist are the Chi Chi Kellie Dress, Chi Chi Melody Dress, Chi Chi Berta Dress and the Chi Chi Willow Dress. I think that the designs Chi Chi have are suitable for such a wide range of outings and occasions.

Kellie
I love a good collar on a dress and I'm also growing to adore full on patterns as well. This subtle gold lace pattern is perfect for a light day time look. I think that the shape is so fun with a kind of fit and flare shape, and the addition of the collar makes it perfect to wear for a Sixth-Form/ Day-to-Day basis.

Melody
This classic monochrome pallette dress is super on trend for Spring/Summer and even as we move into Autumn/Winter it works as a key transitional season piece. I would wear this for a smart or formal attendance. Something like an internship interview or a graduation. Again, it has a super cute giant Peter Pan collar which are my favorite at the moment. With the pleats in the skirt it gives a strong school-girl image to me. The lace top makes the dress appear in two parts, and so accentuate the waist due to the contrast in colours.

Berta
Yellow is such a bold colour, it can be scary to attempt to pull it off. But since I was a little girl (second only to Pink) yellow has been one of my choice colours to rock! I think this dress is great for a house party or night out with the girls. You definitely wouldn't be missed in any of the photos!

Willow
Finally, this gorgeous royal blue floor length dress is something I desperately want to get my hands on! The long chiffon skirt reminds me of an ethereal and Grecian combination. It's perfect for a school prom or end of year ball. The beautiful beaded collar means there's no need to look for a stunning necklace, as it comes with the dress.

All of the dresses are so affordable and the sale pieces are perfect if you're really trying to save pennies, but still want a treat! Go and check them out, Chi Chi Clothing.

So...? Fragrance Event with @Bloggers_Love

Hey Guys!
Even though we've been in this beautiful blogging relationship for coming up 18months, I have never attended a Bloggers Event. I'm not usually one for gatherings with people I don't know since it tends to bring the trademark Row Bow Panics. But I manned up last night (by manned up I mean dragged a willing friend) and toddled off into London to go to my first event. I defo meant to network waaay more, but I was quite content soaking it all in. After the shindig, I was having a peruse of Twitter and found lots of famous faces were there but I had no idea! Clueless! Kitty Brucknell was there and she came and asked my and my buddy about the lady who was doing our nails, and I thought she looked like Kitty but didn't think she'd turn up. She's actually quite petit in real life. A waist to die for! Jasmin and her pal from TOWIE were there, but I don't watch it so ma bud told me. Jade Ellis also from X Factor and I'm dead sure Nikki Graham was there. I think that's enough name dropping more about what was there...

The party was to promote So... Sexy?, So...?'s new fragrance, and their new Dry Shampoo range. They had a table of fragrances to try and then you could try to win a snazzy bag by saying which was your favourite. We liked So...? Sensual. There were little cute cupcakes dotted around, which all looked amazing. And they even had Sweetie trees! I think I need several of those at home for personal consumption, hehe!

I decided to wear my new dress from Primark. For £13 at full price, I thought it was  total barg! It's a skater style dress, which means the skirt is kind of in a fit and flare shape. It sits really nicely as it skims over my derriere and hangs down loosely. It has short cap sleeves which are faux-leather. If it was real leather I think it would be thinker, but its only Primark so I expect its a plastic. The colour of the dress calls itself Raspberry and I think it's gorgeous. There was another one in a grey textured pattern, but this pinky/berry colour is far more Row Bow! The actual belt that comes with it is very skinny and shiny. I swapped belts and wore a slim, but not too skinny belt. This one is slightly textured and matte which I prefer to the little plastic ones. I teamed the dress with opaque black thighs and black dolly shoes. I would have worn heels, but they didn't fit in my bag!

As my belt had a golden buckle, I chose golden jewellery to co-ordinate with my look. I couldn't really decide if I wanted to wear a necklace, so I went for my dainty paper crane necklace. A really chunky golden chain necklace would also work really well. It would make a tougher look to go with the leather sleeves. As well as my pink watch, I wore a black and golden charm bracelet from Accessorize and 2 little golden rings.

For my make-up I wanted to try out pink/berry and black eyes. But as it was not working how I anticipated it would, I thought, 'Just stick to what you know babes!' and went with purple eye shadows. A slick of my BarryM bright pink lippy and I was all dolled up!
I had such a nice time and it was a great event for me to attend as my first bloggers event. I did have a little natter with another blogger DarlingSophie, so check her out. Expect to see possible parts 2 and 3 with the nails I had done and the treasures from my goodie bags.

Trip To the Cinema En Famille

Hey Guys!
On Saturday it was finally time to make a long awaited family trip to see Monsters University. O.K. So I may be a way over the age of it's target audience, but Monsters Inc is part of my childhood! I had to see how it all stared. I have been having such a lazy time at home. Me and my little sister have been having a couple of movie days and we watched Monsters Inc as prep for MU. I'm glad we did since I happened to notice a few links and familiar characters between the two. The new film wasn't as funny, I don't think, as its predecessor but I'm glad I finally got round to seeing it. It was still a really good watch.
Since I was going to be sat in a dark room for 2 hours I didn't think my ball gown and feather boa were appropriate (I'll save them for a special occasion, hehe!). I haven't worn my Barbie leggings much at all since I got them in June. I wore them with my matching white top last time, seen here. But I thought I'd pair it with a black top here and threw my denim shirt over the top. Apart from pink, there aren't really a lot of colours that you could pick out to co-ordinate a top with on the leggings. There are a few darker parts to the print, but I didn't realise how tricky the versatility of the leggings would be!
I've currently got my nails displaying a pretty gradient of purple. Keep an eye out in the next few months I'll show you the outfit I did them to match with! Such a tease!

My New Unusual Skirt

Hey Guys!

I made a rare shopping trip into the outside world the weekend before the end of term, and picked up this amazing skirt. It’s from Republic, since they were closing down, from the AX Paris line that’s in there. Only £8, from something like £22, total barg! It’s so totally different to anything else I have in my wardrobe and isn’t something I’d typically go for. But I think it’s fantastic! It was the perfect way to end my brilliant time working at the school. Out with a bang! We had a leaver’s service in the morning on the last day of term, and all the parents of the year 6’s came and I was sat at the front with the rest of the staff. One of the year 6’s has an older sister who was the year below me at school. Their Mum was telling my how their Dad pointed out, ‘That lady’s skirt is very unusual.’ And they she told him ‘that lady’ was Row Bow. He couldn’t believe it! I like to think I’ve blossomed since primary school.

In my outfit picked up on the orange colours of the skirt and wore an almost neon orange crop top, tucked in. I paired it with a navy blue cardigan, as orange and blue are complimentary colours so against each other they appear to be brighter and bolder hues. I kept my shoes reasonably simple so all the attention was on the skirt. Also, since I’d worn these before I knew I could last the day in them.
I think that the golden spiked necklace works really nicely as it flares and covers top bare skin at the top of the look. So the complexity matches up to the visually exciting skirt. I also had a big flashy ring on and a slightly subtler (but equally as sparkly) ring on the other hand.
From my time at the primary school I think we can all safely say that I would be the trendiest teacher ever! Looking so fly every day, Miss Row Bow!

I feel a little late on the bandwagon here, but that’s because I am so set in my ways that if I don’t like the name of a song I probs won’t listen to it. I’ve seen Iggy Azalea’s song Bounce on my telly box on EVERY music channel and I don’t mind because I bloomin’ love it. I like that whole Indian Wedding celebration thing, it’s because she doesn’t drink so she didn’t want an alcohol fuelled party in her video. For that reason I love it even more! But, upon constantly hearing my 4 fave collaboration of boys mention her song Work in interviews, I finally pressed the play button. And now you just can’t stop me getting my swag on when it plays. There’s no going back now! P.S I love her hair.

Getting Fruity in Summer

Hey Guys!

I’ve been pretty busy this past week, hence the lack of posts. When I say busy I mean 2 fun interviewy-type trips to London in a week. I’m shattered! I find it quite naff apologising for not posting, but I have here to keep you interested and intrigued by what I have been doing. I can hear you ‘ohh’ing and ‘ahh’ing. But I can’t tell you yet, so you’ll just have to keep coming back (or follow-conveniently location to the top left!) to find out.

Here is a look back from working at the primary school which I did last month. This is the penultimate look. Shock Horror! I genuinely thought that this dress was longer. I swear it use to me knee length ATLEAST. But it would appear that I haven’t worn it in a summery while. I usually wear this dress with my green denim jacket, or a cropped white cardigan, as it’s nice to pick up on the subtler hints of colour. I really love the vintage style of the dress. I feel it’s quite 50’s but the bust part is more modern as it’s pleated. Also, it’s not as full as a 50’s skirt which makes me think maybe early very 60’s? But then I see the length and I’m like, ‘Nope, that is definitely 2013!’
I never get to whip out the floral headband, but I get lots of compliments when I do. This is another Primark purchase from last year. I’m sure they’re really easy to make too. Maybe I’ll try it and post it? I think that design of this particular garland goes well with the rest of my outfit because of the pale pink tones and it is beaded with pearly white beads which go with the white base of the dress.
I whipped out another pair of ostentatious (nice one Mr.Synonym button) sandals which have an intricate strap design. I went afternoon babysitting whilst wearing this and I managed to walk home with my big toe free to roam as I’d missed the strap. Silly me! That was really fun actually. I went to one of the sets of Triplets that I babysit (I know, just call me Mary Poppins!) and they wanted help in getting ready for their end of primary school Prom/Disco. Super cute! They all had their dresses, but wanted my advice on shoes, hair and make-up. Appaz they’d told their friend they were getting a hairdresser to do the whole ‘Shabangs’ for them. But then all their friends got hairdressers, so they thought, ‘No. Actually I think Row Bow is so dope and knows what she’s doing, I’d like her to make to my hair and make-up.’ (Well, I’m not too down with the kids, but I’ve heard dope is a cool term, hehe!) I think I did a pretty good job too. Obvz, I can’t put piccys up since they’re only ‘ickle, but you can take my word for it.

Music for this post is a little old. Well, maybs 10 years or so. But I watched a vid the other day that was floating about on FaceyB and it was of 3 male dancers dancing in significant heels to a Beyoncé song. So I did a little research and it her song from her 2003 album, Dangerously in Love, called Yes. I’ve had the album on my iTunes this whole time and never listened to it. I’m mad, I know!

Lovely Ladylike Leopard Print

Hey Guys!
I realised that other day that I’ve never posted about this beaut of a dress. I’ve had it soo long, well like 5 years I think and I manage to whip it out every summer! The shape is what really drew itself to me. I think that it is a really modest and sensible deisgn, but the leopard print mixes it all up and makes it more eye catching. I actually thought this was one of my longer dresses in my wardrobe, but it only just reaches my knees! But theres lots of additional fabric which makes it appear more covered up.
As the dress is so ‘Sha Pow, I’m here! In your face!’ I don’t think it really needs any additions to finish the look. Due to the style on the neckline I think that a little blue denim jacket and a quiff with a pony tail (instead of the braided fringe I’ve worn here) would inject a real 60’s look. Especially with the fuller longer skirt and denim jacket mix. Little white lacy gloves and a small silver pendant would really finish that look. Ohhh, I can just picture it now and I’m seeing a look that actually oozes Madonna in the 80’s. Keep your eyes peeled folk, you can expect that outfit coming to a computer screen near you soon, HeHe!
