Mixing Marbling

Hey Guys!
I was meant to go out on the razz tonight, I had a really hot outfit planned and everything, but now I’m not; hence, why I’m blogging late and not partying. But I was all prepped to look good; I washed my hair and sprayed it to death to psyche it up for a straightening, and I did my nails all disco style. Every time I do this I mean to photograph the process to make it a little easier to understand. But I’m not sure if seeing the water will really help since I made a ruddy mess. So I took some photographs of my Sellotaped nails. Sexy!
Here are my simple steps:
1. Fill up a clean empty butter pot with lukewarm water. If it’s too cold you’ll harden the nail polish before you get a chance to put it on your nails. Fill the pot about ¾ of the way up so there is enough to be able to dip your finger in, but not overflow when you do.
2. Tape up your fingers so you can easily remove excess nail varnish that reaches all the places it shouldn’t.
3. Drop little droplets of an array of coloured nail polishes into the water. It’s best if you can drop them next to and on top of other droplets as then the pattern sticks together. (On many YouTube videos of water marbling the drops disperse and you get a bull’s eye shape, but this NEVER happens for me. The occasional one spreads, but it makes the colour paler and thinner.)
4. Use a cocktail stick to combine the drop colours together and make lots of pretty patterns. Don’t over do it other wise the nail polish spreads and you loose the little designs.
5. I place my finger nail into a clear patch of water and push it under the nail varnish marbling and scoop it up.
Et Vólia! It looks like My Sellotaped finger piccy.

7. Remove the tape reasonably quickly after you’ve finished dipping one hand. Because otherwise the polish will dry joining the tape to your nails and when you try to whip it off it will break off your nail too, and look messy.
Et Vólia, now it should look like my snazzy nail beauty shot!

I Found Love in a Hopeless Place...

Hey Guys!
Finally, after being on my holidays for over a month and a half now, I got to see my Buddies! 2 of them decided to ditch me for Uni and so didn’t finish term until last week/2 weeks ago. And then the cheek of my main man, he left me for a 10-week gallivant across South America!
This is where the title of my post will start to make sense. Rihanna famously once said, “We found love in a hopeless place”, and now I totally gets what she meant. Basically guys, I found love in a hopeless place and that hopeless place was Pizza Express. But of course Ri-Ri couldn’t sing, “We found love in Pizza Express” (even thought it still kinda works). His name was Mason and he even gave me his number (well, his number to fill in a survey about my Pizza Express Experience). To me he looked more like an Oli since he was almost a doppelganger for @OliWhitetv. First of all, I did notice he kept asking me if we were O.K for drinks, and if we wanted to order, pudding etc. I’m the least likely to be in charge in my group since I’m the youngest and look about 12 compared to the others. But then once we’d asked another waiter for the bill, Mason came bounding over asking if we wanted the bill (It had been about 20 minutes since we rejected pudding and assumed the bill was coming our way). When he came back he was laden with gifts for me. Well, he brought those little money off cards for each of us. But as he was explaining the deal, I realised he was only rally looking at and talking to me, then I heard my friends sniggering and I noticed his hands were really shaking and really I have no idea what the cards are for. I thought my friends were laughing because he was obviously besotted with me but it was because appaz I was going really red, #Mortificado! How cringe, because he was actually pretty cute. Maybs I’ll go back next Saturday and try again… HeHe!

Well, now I have explained myself I can talk you through the look. I was super annoyed with the weather because I had a really cute outfit planned and was all ready to go and the heavens opened. It had been sunny then rainy then sunny then rainy…and so on. So I changed into this which I nowhere near as summery and girly. I was genuinely really upset, which is really silly but I thought since we haven’t seen each other in so long I wanted to look at least decent if not pretty. But I went with this and in the end I don’t think I looked too shoddy, I hope. The jumper is my final purchase to show you from my New Look order. It looked a lot thicker online so I was deceived by how warm I would be. But I suppose it does make a good summer jumper for days when you want something that is kind of warm but also cool when the sun does make an appearance. I love the dip dye look, a great summer feature! I chose pale trousers to almost mimic the dip dye pattern but in reverse. I also think that the pale colours suggest summer better over dark colours. Since I finished Uni, I feel like I haven’t worn my leopard print boots in forever! But I had to walk home from the bus stop, and it was VERY muddy, so these were the only option really. Black boots wouldn’t have looked as co-ordinated.
To add some slight elegance to the look I’m wearing my Paper crane necklace and my golden cross and chain ring-bracelet combo. I slicked on the orange lippy, which I am loving so much right now! And a messy sock bun completes the look. I call it messy because I did it with au natural curly hair. I usually brush it to smooth out the edges. But I like the texture the curly hair give my bun.
Check out my mac, now who could say no to that!

Pounds & Penny Saving Websites

Hey Guys!
Being a Student, I don't have a lot of 'spare' cash on me since it should really go on un-fun things like rent, travel and sketchbooks. But being a Fashion Student I can't help but feel the need to fulfil the 'pretty things' hole in my life. I don't think you even have to be a fashion student to have this need. Buying clothes, beauty products and accessories eases the pain of mine, hehe! So here is a little list of websites we can use to save those pounds and pennies!

Since I've found this beaut of a website I have literally been hooked. Even the expired codes show what an exhaustive range of deals are out there. And the magical thing is that Money Saving Expert's main man Martin has found them all for you! It covers shops codes, freebie products and even delves into deeper subjects like insurance.

I love the Channel 4 program Super Scrimpers, I've learnt some of my best tricks from there. And this is their online page with links to ideas and places to reduce your Style costs. Again, the scrapbook explores other areas too but I find the style pages the best. The actual programme has more DIY cheap tips, like making homemade & cheap beauty products and clothes & accessories.

I found a Free Body Shop Lip Balm code on Money Saving Expert, and the link was on Voucher Codes website. You can get a free one too, ends 30th June. My best tip for these kind of voucher websites, which sends you deals on everything not just fashion and beauty, is to create a dedicated e-mail address so you don't end up losing personal emails within all the bumf they send you. I thought I'd show you my thrify-ness in practice with a quick pic. Look at how ecstatic I am with my free Lip Balm. It smells sooo good, #trulyscrumptious.

This is a great website if you don't want to hear about a deal for everything under the sun! Fashion Vouchers is dedicated to keeping you up to date on all the latest Fashion deals for the Highstreet and online. There is literally something for everyone with womenswear, beauty, menswear and sportswear covered. I love how simple the website is to use, as so just cram so much onto a page you can't even find the voucher! A must for any Fashion Enthusiasts on a budget. Or just Fashion Scrooges, like me!

If you've signed up and got a Matalan card you'll already know the volume of deals you're in for. If not, why not! Matalan have soo many deals for it's loyal customers and you even get a treat on your birthday, which always ends up running alongside another deal. What's good is that a lot of the in store and online discounts are for card holders only so you get the most for your money while you non-Matalan-cardholder friends lose out, HeHe!

My Boots Advantage card was the first card I signed up for by myself and upon great impulse. It was my first week of College, and the Boots lady asked me if I wanted on and since Boots and College are less than a 5 minute walk from each other I had to really. I love saving for a great worthwhile purchase. I saved for just under a year and bought a Bio-Oil like product with has lasted me ages. And it's still going! So great to think I didn't even spend a penny on it. I can't wait for a Tesco one Now!

Since no look is complete with out a little attention to your face and nails I thought I'd include e.l.f, Eyes.Lip.Face. My friends told me about e.l.f a year or two ago, but I'd never truly investigated until recently. They sell lots of Beauty Products and brush sets so you can apply them artistically. Their products are actually of a really decent quality considering they are über cheap! Lots of the YouTube Crew that I watch use e.l.f Products frequently too, so of course I going to enquire.

I wouldn't really include this as 'saving money' technically. However, if you do have some spare money and you don't quite know where to invest it Glossybox is a brilliant idea. Basically, you sign up for 1, 3 or 12 months and get one box every month with about 5 products in for you to test. The fab thing is that it only works out at about £8-10 per box and considering some of these products cost that in a shop, its a sweet deal. Then if you really adore a particular item, to can go and buy the real thing.

To finish on a obvious note, Ebay and Amazon Market Place are usually the first place I'd look for cheap goodies. But the problem is that you can never tell what is actually out there and the prices can shoot up last minutes. This is why I'd maybe use Ebay and Amazon Market Place to have a little look to see what label I'm liking the look of, then try and find a voucher or deal on the websites mentioned above.

Phew, that is alot of money you're going to be savng now!

Nothing Better to do...

Hey Guys!
I’ve come to the conclusion hat my motto for this summer is going to become, “Nothing better to do!” Therefore on Friday I tagged along to a local Craft Show with the ‘Rents since “I’ve nothing better to do!”. See, I’m already putting it into practice!
It was a pretty dud day, weather wise. So I kept it really relaxed and popped on the denim shirt and kiddies chinos. I kept my buttons undone quite far down because the shirt has a naturally square shape. I do not suit large, oversized tops; I just end up becoming a bemusing sight to look at. So by keeping the buttons undone to about half way down loosens up the shape of the shirt. It allows the central line to fold and relax better on your ‘lady lumps’, and hopefully fitting you in a much more flattering way. I DID have a white vest top on underneath. I’m not one to flaunt THAT much! I went with the pale brown (tobacco) coloured chinos because, tonally, it matched the pale blue denim. The cardi was to keep me warm without needed a coat.
To keep with the farmer feel of the whole affair I wore my horse riding boots. They were my attempt to keep cool and trendy and have a pair of Chelsea boots. But their design is basically the same as the riding boots, and considering these were meant to be like £50 and I only paid £17 after various discounts I think I did pretty well. The site we were on is actually used for horse riding anyway and has lots of snazzy jumps dotted all over the place.
I’ve taken to wearing high pony-tails since last Monday, see here. I’m not so sure it works as well with curly hair. It’s harder to contain a cute shape. I did twist my hair and wore a twisted braid for a bit which was nice. But I’ll show you that another time. Pretty pink lippy was just right for this look as it isn’t a brash or in your face, as that wouldn’t have gone with the pale pallet.
Oh, and I’ve got a pretty little blue and silver ring on my left index finger. #Bling.

As I write this post I’ve gone through the old Now That’s What I Call Music collection on. At the mo, I’m on Now 68- my most recent actual physical copy from the franchise. I forgot how much I love Newton Faulkner’s Dream Catch Me. It also reminded me of a super cute duo who played at my secondary talent show in Year 11, I think. It was two brothers and the older one, in my year, played the guitar for his adorable little Year 7 brother and he sang one of Newton’s Songs, All I Got. Love that song too! (Woah, just ‘Wiki’ed him and his real name is Sam. Scandalous!)

Demure Denim

Hey Guys!
The final look from my busy weekend is this number. I have wanted to wear this dress out for ages, I've had it for literally YEARS and never worn it outside the house. I think a long bodycon-style maxi-dress looks really cool in Summer. The only thing is I'm not very good at stomach crunches (I know, shock horror!) so I don't have the iron board stomach that you really need to pull off a dress like this. I've always thought saying stomach makes it sounds like a nice, toned set of abs, but I think tummy sounds a bit wobbly.
So to disguise this problem I added a few distraction so nobody could see any wobbly bits. Evidence A: Denim Shirt. The pale colour lifts the look and adding denim relaxes the look so you don't appear too dressy. Wearing it open allows for it to move and not give you a defined silhouette, meaning nobody can be too sure where you end and the denim jacket begins... (It's also the perfect length to go over my bum, since I haven't found any non-VPL knickers yet. I'm feeling Spanx personally!) Evidence B: Long, thin, floaty scarf. The lightweight nature of the fabric adds movement so it isn't always resting on your tummy and pointing to the big (but extremely yummy) dinner you had last night! The length is also almost like an optical illusion and it makes you appear taller. Evidence C: Apple Necklace. The trusty Apple Necklace is my secret weapon whenever I need to look a little taller and elongate my chest/torso. Against the scarf it gives the look a 'tougher' appearance. I mean that in the way that the Apple Necklace is heavier and made from metal & chain so the look isn't overly floaty and airy, with the scarf and shirt. I feel it 'anchors' the look.

The denim shirt was in the sale (Ok Teen sale!) at New Look (the amount I've bought from there recently I sound obsessed) and so was a total barg. Therefore this look was funded my birthday money from Auntie Carey and Uncle David. Thank You.

Looking at the Galaxy

Hey Guys!
This is the look I wore to work on during the daytime. I chose another ensemble for the the evening performance as I thought the tail on this dress would become a bit of a nuisance.
I love the print of the dress as it it really eye-catching without being too in your face. This is due to the predominantly dark colours. I added a silver belt to this dress as the square shape of it is soooo unflattering on me. I think because I am reasonably petit, the baggy shape just swamped me and made me look little and large at the same time. I was really disappointed because I had been looking for a) a drop hem dress and b) something galaxy print for some time and when I found this online- part of my New Look order- I thought I was really chuffed. The silver, metallic look of the belt goes really well with the galaxy/space theme of the look. The long silver necklace elongated the top to compensate the belting. It is a really long row of silver peace signs.
And to add even further to the dark and metallic pallet I have used a new eye make-up stick. I spent a little more of my birthday money on a Maybelline New York Master Smoky Shadow-pencil, in Smoky Navy. I really like the effect and the actual product since it is super easy to use and looks pretty decent. I am a little worried that I look a more Panda Eyes over Smouldering Eyes but it grows on me throughout the day. That's another thing I'm impressed with- it lasts the whole day! Fabulous!
In your eyeees, It feels like I've been stargaziiingg. (Who can work out where that's from?)

This look was bought with birthday money from my Uncle Chris and Auntie Jen. Thank You. (I'm so high tech, thank you letters through blogging!)

Backstage Running

Hey Guys!
Over the weekend we had the Summer Performances from the theatre group I work at. On Saturday we had a normal day then one show in the evening and on Sunday we had  lunchtime and dinner time performances. This is my outfit for the Sunday Shows. I was really tired from the Saturday, but I had to soldier on to make sure I got my monies!
This dress is another piece from my New Look order a couple of weeks ago. It is a letter print pinafore. I love it and think it's super cute. There's one 10 year old who always likes what I wear and I think she wear some pretty fetch things to. The best thing is she gets the older children's clothes which mean I can pick them up for me too, Yay! I know for a fact we have at least on of the same dress (this one). She said she liked this one too, as did several other people. Here I have worn it with one of the little tops my sisters got me for my birthday. They said it was to match my paler orange lipstick. I liked that I could wear the cropped top and still show skin without flashing the tum. The low dips at the side of the dress allow for side-waist to be flashed. Sexy, hehe! Since I was flashing the flesh I covered up with some black tights and dollie shoes. I couldn't really wear silly shoes because I'd be running around the theatre for the duration of each show. Great Exercise!
I've got my expensive Maybelline lippy on here through recommendation of Zoella, I think. When I say expensive I mean £7.19, extortionate! It's a darker yet brighter orange which is what I was really looking for. Also, I have been using a REALLY cheap felt-tip liquid eyeliner which I think I suit quite well. I've managed to crack the technique quite well. Draw a line and colour underneath it works well for me. I used eye shadow in this look too, which may have been a bit heavy since I have colourful lips too. I try to go for rainbow eyes or lips so I don't look too clown like.
I had my simple chain, golden cross ring-bracelet combo on with a fetching colourful bracelet that was left behind from the Saturday performance. I'm sure I wear it soo much better that it's original owner.
By boss commented on the versatility of my hair since, as you'll see I had straight hair with a blunt fringe on Saturday, straight and no fringe today and last week it was curly! The amazing transformer Row Bow. Probs shouldn't call myself a Transformer, it makes me sound pretty hench.

Miss Row Bow

Hey Guys!
So I've just come back from spreading my teaching wings, and giving a talk to a class of year 4, 5 and 6 about e-safety on Facebook. Just call me Miss Row Bow! I was worried that none of the kids would actually pay attention and I'd end up sounding mean as I'm very against anyone under 13 using Faceyb since 'dem da rules!' (I don't even think they should have a mobile phone, let alone a Blackberry or iPhone, in Primary school. I sound like such a miserable old bag!) But I have actually done lots of work experience at the school previously a few years agn, and I surprised with how many names I actually remembered! The kiddies were really good and gave a great discussion and asked lots of questions, which made me think more of them have Facebook than actually admitted it. I went in with my Mumma, since she's savy with tech and stuff. But I ended up taking total control and the kids were addressing me with the questions. Man, I'd be such a cool and popular teacher!
I'm sure the fact that I look pretty cute, helped. I went with a blue and purple colour pallet with silver accessories. I wanted to wear my simple dark red skater style dress, but when I tried it on last night I looked bloomin' awful. My booty has ballooned apparently! So I went for this purple skater skirt, which is from New Look. It's a really useful wardrobe piece that goes with everything and is suitable for all occasions. I would have gone bare legs, little white socks and heeled brogues. But since I was at a Primary school I kept it reasonably sensible. The top is a DIY affair. It was a fully sleeved shirt but I took them off and splattered thin bleach all over for a funky effect. It's pretty cool, I'm not sure if I said before, but the front splatters have a pink haze around them and te back spatters are pure white. I have no idea how I achieved that. Magic, probably! To top actually only buttons up so there is an open neck. But I've added 2 safety pins, from the inside to give the 'buttoned up to the top look'. I was trying my gold spiked necklace on with this look, but it has red beads too which don't really go with the rest of the look. So I found my short pearl necklace which works really well with the white splats on the top. This colouring is also why I went for the silver belt. The skirt comes with a black thing belt, but I wanted to continue the blue and white/pale pattern.
I have striaght hair this week so I went for a subtle pineapple on top of the back of my head. I've used the Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight, but I've still had to straighten it every day! It goes flicky at the bottom very quickly.

My older sister has come home from Uni recently and had Fall Out Boy's Save Rock and Roll album playing. So although I've not listene$ dto the whole album yet so far I'm liking Where Did the Party Go?, Save Rock and Roll (ft Elton John- say whaa?) and Rat a Tat (ft Courtney Love- again whaa?) as album tracks.

Making More Ring-Bracelet Combos

Hey Guys!
These were some cute little Ring-Bracelet combos that I made for some kiddies I babysit. I like to keep my 'cool babysitter' image and giving pressies like this enhances that image. I would usually make them from scratch like here and here, but instead I swapped the rings so each piece was personalised for each girl.

1. As I bought adult sizes, I had to adjust the joining chain to fit a small persons hand. Que the introduction of my little sisters hand. After bringing up the chain to reduce it's size enough, I put a saftey pin through the loop I wanted to cut into.

The rings I chose to add, have little hoops on as they have letters attached through the hoop. I threaded a jump ring through the hoop on the ring and the end of the chain I had just cut. I used jewellery pliers to open and close the jump rings. Only ever open the jump rings by pulling one half up and one half down. if you put the jump ring outwards like this <-> , you'll ruin its' shape and it won't hold anything together.

Then the whole piece is finished. A simple ring exchange to make a personalised piece of jewellery.
Da-Nah! I even got all the coloured ribbon correct.

UK Release Alert: The JoBros (Jonas Brothes) have now released their tune Pom Poms on the UK iTunes. It's been around in the US for a little while I think, but I haven't heard it on the UK radio yet. It's actually a really fun tune and the video isn't typical JoBro style girls, short-shorts, booty, girls, fun and more girls! The song itself is pretty euphemistic! Such a party tune and perfect for summer. I'd encourage you to check it out even if you're not a fan usually.

Shopping Style

Hey Guys!
I went into town the other day in a new outfit for new and I thought I'd share. The weather caught me by surprise. It looked like there was a strong potential for rain and cold wind so I put on my aviator jacket. But as soon as we arrived the sun had a little heat party and the jacket was really not needed.
The top is a cropped length with means the I'd usually automatically put a vest top underneath to hide my tum. But as the skirt is high-waisted (and very crinkly as it wasn't ironed, Whoops!) I felt I could get away with it. It was more a midriff flashing look. Since your ribs are there, there's not a lot that can go wrong and splurge out so if you're not tum-tabulous be midriff marvellous instead! In the photos you can see how little flesh can be on show. With the wind there was a little more 'uplift' so I wore a black bra underneath so it was all well co-ordinated. The skirt is a little short to not wear anything underneath it, so I went black tights as I thought it would be colder. But what I'm really looking for is a pair of lace hemmed cycling shorts, à la Little Mix.

The wine coloured lipstick looks better on a moody/resting face. Which when I'm shopping I tend to pull. I try not to look moody, but it's my natural facial expression. I did find a funny video about it here.

I really like Paramore- Ain't it Fun at the mo. I watched their Radio 1's Big Weekend performance and thought it was pretty catchy. But I think Hayley needs a quick mirror check next time she goes onstage. I'm gonna put it out there I was not a fan of her smudged eye make up.

BarryM Magnetic Nail Polish

Hey Guys!
This is a little review on the BarryM Magnetic Nail Polish. I had the Metallic Black one. Each colour has it's own unique pattern, which is pretty cool. its also a good marketing ploy so you can 'collect them all'. Clever Sausages! The Nail varnish works with the use of a magnet, handily attached to the top of the lid. This bit just pops off. I didn't know that, so I was attempting to twist it of with no such luck! The plastic attachment has a little curve tab which is rested on the cuticle area as you hover the magnet over wet nail polish.

I found it really tricky to get a sufficient pattern at first. And it couldn't work out if it works best with a thick or thin layer. It turns out I was just being a div. It's super easy to use. A base layer of polish is applied-don't hover the magnet over this. The second coat is time to attack it with the magnet. Within a few second the pattern appear as long as you get the plastic tab rested on your cuticle A.S.A.P!
The only thing I wasn't too keen on was the fact in only appeared to pattern the centre of my nail and not so much the sides. It helped if I moved the magnet side to side very slightly, but not a lot. I'm not sure if I just have very curvy nails, but it still looks cool. Also, after applying a top coat I found that the magnet pattern mysteriously faded significantly. Weird! So it did start chipping pretty quickly but it also lasted a while. It occupied my attention for about half an hour in front of The Wanted with Ryan Seacrest interview.

I love love love Jason Deruuulooo's new song, The Other Side. I forgot how much I've missed him! I like the bit when he's all like, 'If we walk down this road, We'll be lovers for sure!'
(Also, he's heard ma Union J boys want to collab and he's totally made first tweet. That is going to be such a HOT tune!)

'I'm a Barbie Girl...'

Hey Guys!
As you can see from the title of the post I'm a really 90's Barbie Girl, deep down inside. Although you don't have to look too deep as I think it's pretty evident here! I had a little splurge in Miss Selfridge, since they have 70% off at the mo. It may have been a little Row Bow's birthday last week and since I ALWAYS end up just putting my money into the bank, I decided to spend it this year. But looking at my outfit you would think I've just turned 6 again! I wore this look to work and all the kids were very bemused as to why I had Barbie on my top. 'Do you like Barbie?' they kept asking and I was like, 'Of course! Don't you?' I'm not sure Barbie is as big as when I was their age!
The leggings were only in a size 12, but they are made from an elastic fabric to they stretch meaning that they cling well to smaller derrières too. I got the top in a baggy size because I don't have many baggy, airy pieces in my vast wardrobe. And the thin material is great for summer when the sun makes an appearance. I've rolled up the leggings at the bottoms, to add a little more grown up styling. Although it could look like they are too long for me and my Mumma had to roll them up for me! I wore my little blue denim jacket so that I wasn't in total pink fabulosity! The white shoes balance out the colouring of my look, and matches the predominately white top.
I'm so pleased with my new floral cat ear headband! I found some in what TopShop call their 'Sale', but they were still like £8. I missed out on those, but there are far cuter and were only £3. Total Barg! I added a few silver rings. Two of the rings have small chains on and I made them myself from some ring bracelet pieces which I gave to other people. I replaced with prettier ones, and kept the originals for myself. #Thrifty.
Also, notice how my watch actually blends in nicely with this look. It was meant to be! HeHe!
A Voilà! I'm such a cute JCat-Look it up (or not I just did to check what you'd find and Urban Dictionary is telling me it's something I don't wanna be! A Union J fan is what I was going for!)

This look was funded by Angie (ma cuz) and Gordon's kind donation to the Row Bow Birthday Trust. Thank You, HeHe!

Me, Me, Me...

Hey Guys!
This is what is wore to the exhibition of my work (which was the same evening I began my modelling career!). The photo was taken next to a picture of my Final Major project outcome. Having spent the whole year being told not to model my own things, as 'I won't be able to see what I look like on the camera and therefore wouldn't be in control of the shoot' (did she not realised I had legs to walk over to the camera?). My tutor told me to make lots of self portraits  of myself as the singer I was designing for. I chose Kyla La Grange and spent my time researching her and her style and music and themes she sings about. Then I made some designs. That sound simple enough but it was super stressful and would never wish it upon anyone! But at least I should be going to Uni I actually want to go to for a degree I actually want to do in September.
It was cold, rainy and in the evening so I decided to layer up. Just as I stepped of the train to start the 15 minutes walk from the station to Uni, the heavens opened and my beautifully straight fringe was attacked. But I think I saved it, ish. I put a white lightweight shirt underneath the vivid yellow dress more as an additional layer but to also give the neck line more interest through the addition of a collar. I think it is a unique combination. As much as I love the dress it is wee bit short for me now, hence the leggings. I always try to add a belt where possibly to add more shape & enhance my figure, which works well with the skater style skirt.
On my feet I wore my leopard print boots, as the tones match the belt and I didn't want too much black. Brown is a lighter tone and lift the look more than black shoes would.
I really like Ke$ha's -Crazy Kids with Will.i.am (my bezzie). I'll admit that the whispering bits are pretty creepy and I'm not sure I'll ever get used to it. In the 1st half of the video Ke$ha is gansta-licious. But after Will's interlude she appears far more glamorous wearing a chained corset which looks like a creation of The Blonds- but I haven't looked into that yet. #lovetheirstuff

Oh, hello there hand of my proud Mumma!

Farewell Farnham!

Hey Guys!
Monday was the last ever time I had to make the 2 and a half hour journey into Uni. And now that means I am totally freeeeeeeee! The weather has done a complete switch-a-roo and we are now experiencing some rather intriguing weather with features I'm not sure any of us have experienced before. I've heard it's called 'Sun'- I hope I'm spelling that correctly, HeHe!- and a common feature is blue skies and warm temperatures.  If you witness any of these sightings, do not be afraid it is actually quite lovely!
The summery vibes make me automatically go straight to the pale and pastel pieces in my wardrobe. I've gone for a salmon pink shirt, lightweight beige paper-bag waisted shorts and a white cardi. Wooden jewellery 'would' have gone well too. HeHe, see what I did there!
I kept my eye make-up really natural as in this kind of weather I don't really want to get makeup sweating down my face #sexaay! So I had some what I would call 'thin' mascara, meaning that it's not volume boost which is usually thicker and heavier on your lashes. Fun Fact: It was a lash curl mascara. Lengthening ones also work well for a subtle look. But I did go for the bright pink lippy since I'm getting to the point where I feel a little naked without any lippy on. Gotta make the most of that juicy pout I got!
I half attempted to blow dry my hair properly the night before and it doesn't look bad. More beachy waves over Kate Middleton, however it is a little frizzy so I put it up in a pony tail. It's super soft and glossy though because I've prepped it to straighten.

Out of Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus's new songs I'm finding Selena's Slow Down far more attractive. I adore Come and Get It and I think Slow Down just as jah-mazing! I think she's made the transition from Disney to Adult really smoothly and hasn't made a massive departure but enough to mature and suit an older audience too. Just call me Little Miss Music Critic!

I Got That Boom-Boom-Swoon!

Hey Guys!
Just before the end of May Bank holiday I ordered a handful of items from New look since their sale is pretty decent. I've not been able to order stuff off the internet like this for long and this is the first impulse splurge I've done. So I'm pretty pleased with myself for that. I could do a 'Haul' post but instead I thought I'd show you the pieces as and when I wear them.
This was a cool, summer work look. My New Look items in this outfit were the top and skirt. The skirt online looked a lot bluer, but the actual piece is evidently very purple. However, this is no bad thing as it matches the purple tones in the top exactly. Which means they go really well together. Ordering a whole outfit from one shop makes it easy to acquire matching tones as retailers tend to buy collections/garments/fabrics from a select few designers & makers. This means the season's looks go well as the ideas aren't from a load of different people with different ideas of which purple they should use.
I love skater style skirts because of the 'fit and flare' effect it has on my figure. I have a reasonable boyish figure. Even thought my Mumma is pretty bootylicious she gave that to my older sister and left me to look like stumpy tree! So the elasticated waist pulls in my waist to make it appear as flattering as possible, then the voluminous skirt create a wider shape around my hips to make it look like I have some sort of curve! (I would have said ass, but I actually have a substantial one of those from certain angles!) The top is from the teen section in New Look, and is aged 14-15. It's supposed to be a crop top, but as retailers have an inflated idea of an actually mid-teen's size it fits me like a normal Tee. Bonus!
I wore the look with a bright green Denim Jacket as I think it works really well against the darker royal purple. Also, I posted about my denim jackets only other week and wanted to switch it up for you. I'm so thoughtful! I chose my bright pink lippy to match my watch.
Whoa! Hold up Guys! BANDWAGON ALERT: I have finally, albeit very behind the bandwagon and more like running miles behind it trying to keep up, learnt how to complete a rolled top bun. I've found a few ways of doing it actually but I found the Sock Bun is the easiest for my hair type. There are loads of YouTube vids on it I'm sure, but I could make a post on it. I actually think my head really suits this look and they can look really nice lower down for a wedding guest, or something fun/formal like that.
A couple of weeks ago in Ireland, BBC Radio 1 had their Big Weekend over 3 days with performers such as Bruno Mars, Paramore, The Sats and Row Bow's fave Conor Maynard. I watched Bruno Mars headline set on the Sunday, not thinking much of it to be honest. But he was totes amaze! I'd kind of gone into that phase where because everyone else raves about him so much I didn't want to be part of it. But he has so much energy throughout the show and I discovered some new additive additions to my playlist. I don't think I will every get bored of Natalie and Treasure- his new one- is fabulously funky! I couldn't help that the leather jacket probably should have been substituted for a lighter weight jacket because he must have been baking like a potato!
Boom Boom Pow!

P.S Can we all take a moment to appreciate the injection of cuteness into Hollyoaks in the form of Alfie Browne-Sykes! I wouldn't suggest a Google search since they aren't the best piccys. But a Character introduction on YouTube is the place to find him! Or on the TellyBox every day. #scrummy
