Wagamamma.i.am

Hey Guys!
Today I went for lunch with my little posse from school. We dined at Wagamamma's then had a little mooch around some shops where I managed to find myself a lovely green peplum dress. Only for a fiver, total barg! Even the till lady thought so!
This outfit was put together by total chance of the top and skirt lying next to each other in my drawer. The pink top has a faint tribal pattern on which compliments and works well against the tribal print of the skirt. I wouldn't have normally paired these two items together, but the print is a subtle cohesive of the two. The top is in a baggy, over sized style so I tucked it in to get a subtle blouse over the skirt. I would have just gone black tights, but it were a wee bit chilly.
The boots are actual riding boots from a proper riding shop. So that means that they should last forever, since I don't plan on ever using them to ride! They are of an extremely similar style to Chelsea boots, which have been super trend over this past A/W season. The only difference is that my boots have a square toe and Chelsea boots tend to have a pointier, rounded toes as it is more feminine. Another barg since they were meant to be £50 but it was a closing down sale so I thought they'd be £30/40 but at the til I got them for £17. Booyahkasha!
How do you guys like my new watch? I bought it as part of a 2 for cheaper price, when getting my little sister a birthday present last week. Pretty snazzy and only a tenner!
As an ode to my new celeb bff (check out my twitter @Rowbowk to see who I'm on about) I am listening to Will.i.am - #ThatPower ft Justin Bieber. It's really addictive so be careful or you'll be hooked too!
I'm off to Mars now to chill with my 'dope' bff. We so cool, we chillin'!

Making a Snowy Day Brighter

Hey Guys!
I can't believe it actually snowed last weekend. The sight of my my garden covered in snow made me soo annoyed. I really wanted to wear my Dressing Up Post outfit. But it was waaay too cold for that. So I decided to keep the girly vibe and try and brighten up everyone else's day and and look summery, but keep warm. I love this skirt, but I've hardly worn it. it's really round as it had a short layer of gathered netting underneath the patterned fabric, which creates an evenly profound shape. It's difficult to find evenly rounded shaped skirts because you'll usually end up with a bigger tummy of bum. Mine's usually in the bum department! i thought I had found a good'un with this skirt until one of the tiddly wee's said 'You look like you have a baby in there'. i told her that was the best compliment I'd had all day, sarcastically. I wanted a black vest top to use in this look initially. But i think that the longer sleeves work much better with the black block colouring of the leggings on my legs. My trainers are pink camouflage (Side note: I realised that I've had these trainers since year 7 the other day. Good Times, small feet!) so the designs goes well with the floral skirt design, as they some what replicate each other.
Somebody thought it was a good idea to add Defying Gravity and Dancing Through Life from the musical Wicked this week. Can't think who! But now when I'm happily singing ALL the characters parts I do get some strange looks! BTW, I'm defo a contender for the next Elphaba. When the song stated and me and my older sister were at the table, I gave her the part of Glinda and I was Elphaba. She agreed but then questioned why she was the pretty girly one and I was the gritty dark one? It's called 'acting', pfft some people!
'And nobody in all of Oz, no wizard that there is or was, is eveerr gonnaa bring meeeeee-eeee-eeee dooooowwwnn!' / 'You're perfect' 'You're perfect' 'So were perfect together!' A couple of my faves...

Dressing -Up!

Hey Guys!

Last night I had a little dressing up session, just playing about with different looks. This usually happens just before bed or before I have a hair wash after I've brush my hair properly. I love experimenting with my hair and it's easier after I've brushed it and separated all the curls. But it means after it's been brushed I HAVE to wash it other wise it becomes a massive frizz ball!

This look has a totally summer, festival vibe to it. It makes me uber jealous I won't be able to show it off to the amaze-balls line up at Glastonbury this year. Unless you fancy buying me a ticket? Maybe...? The floral top is a larger sized crop top. This means it gives the crop look well but still covers my tummy! But it curves at the front so the sides are higher which eases me into flashing the (one day) abs! Underneath my play suit, it looks really fun and the sleeves match the shape of the shorts. I've undone the zip a little to create a more relaxed shape to the play suit. As the floral design is busy and continuous, the blunt cut off to the top of the play suit didn't work well. This means the florals can flow freely! I'd probs wear the look with my white lacey dollie shoes, as it would match the pale base to the top and my skin tone. Anything dark would become an odd distraction to the main outfit.

When I came down to show my Mumma, she thought I'd actually chopped of my gorgeous locks! I had mentioned earlier in the day that I might juts hack it off. But no, I have deviously pined it back at the side. I put my hair into a side ponytail position and twisted it. I then made a swiss roll shape against my head, with the twisted side ponytail and pinned it in place. I forgot that I even had this headband, but I was a total barg from an Accessorize sale at Christmas. I've positioned it slightly further forward that I would usually wear a headband, and I think that adds to the festival look and appeal. I've slipped on a little pale pink lippy and away I go (to have my hair wash!). Also a nice addition is my coral nail polish, which matches the lippy.

I've had The Mend- Where Were You playing while I wrote this. Image overhaul or what?! It's write a funky little tune, a really old school sound. The Mend were on Britain's Got Talent Last year, I think?
Da-Nah!

Uni Wear

Hey Guys!
This is a simple outfit that I wore to uni. I think that it's quite different from what I usually post and wanted to show you. I'm not one for big baggy jumpers, but in this look I think it works well. The addition of the gridded chain necklace weighs down, flattening the baggy-ness of the jumper. It also makes the look more feminine as I think that's why baggy looks don't suit me. I have a naturally really girly appearance, so unshapely garments look a little peculiar on me. That's also why I teamed the jumper with jeggings because they are tighter and show the silhouette of my legs. The biker boots at the end finish of the look with that masculine vibe again.
The jumper is actually a 'Unisex' aged 16. So I thought it would be just right. But when it can through the label says Boys Age 16, which would explain why it's too big. It's from Tesco School Uniform range, which is a good place to shop if you want a large block coloured jumper as it's cheap for parents to buy from. Also they should be made to last all the rough and tough ramblings of school life!
When taking photos me and my little sister had a mess about with some camera trickery. Fortunately/ Unfortunately I have a really animated face (it's because I'm an actress darling!), so if the piccy scares you I'm sorry I don't know what came over me!
Whilst writing this post I've been listening to the debut tune from The Risk (from X Factor UK 2011), Missiles. It's pretty good and a little different to what I was expecting. The only annoying thing is that they don't pronounce Missiles correctly. It comes out Miss-ules! But I'll forgive them sing the song the rest of it so beautifully. It was released in January, but I don't believe it charted so I'm doing my bit to promote them. Andy is my fave, so y'know #justsaying.

Working Monochrome

Hey Guys!
This is my take on the big S/S 2013 trend of monochrome. I love my bright colours too much, so I had to incorporate them in some how! The dress is white with black polka dots and collar detail. Since it was a very chilly day I added thick black tights and black dollie shoes. I also has a trusty slip on underneath so the bottom of the dress doesn't catch and rise up my legs throughout the day! The dress came with the thin waist electric pink belt. But I'm not too keen on it so I added the green into the look as another accent colour. I think it balances out the pink, as green and red are complimentary colours and pink is a hue withing red. To be honest that particular shade of pink reminds me of year 8 girls trying to me all 'retro' with leg warmers and trying to be 2kl4skool, as the cool kids say I'm sure.
I got the ring for Christmas from a lovely family who I babysit their triplets- girl of many talents me! I got loads of compliments and I love the fact that it is super chunky and big without looking cheap and tacky. The bead work is beautiful, although it's got nothing on my Mumma's work! In case it's not that clear, its an over sized flower. Tonally it fits better with the pink belt, but shade wise it obviously goes with the green cardi. That's why it works so well, as it ties in all of the other colours really well.
I didn't feel that I had that much make-up on since I only had my eyes and lips on. I don't wear foundation, hence my b-e-a-utiful skin (even if I do say so myself!). But one of the kiddies said 'You don't need anymore make-up! You've got loads on already! You're COVERED in it!' I did explain what I had on, but I think it was wasted as I'm sure she went of to pretend to be a helicopter, or something like that! On my eyes I have green eyeshadow with a pale base, similar to the ring's colour with dark olive green at the corners. And a metallic green liquid eyeliner, black mascara and pencil liner along my waterline. Then the pretty fuchsia pink BarryM lippy on. For a 7 year old that would be too much. But for a big girl like me I think its quite alright!
I'm loving Fall Out boy's new tunes. I liked My Song Know What You Did in the Dark. But now...Have you heard Phoenix, their next single?! OMG, I will never get tried of listening to it! Not to mention in the video Patrick Stump is all skinny mini, cutie bootie now!
Check it out!

Ravensbourne Uni Interview

Hey Guys!
Last Monday I went to my final Uni interview for September 2013 entry. It was at Ravensbourne University, which I had never heard of before I applied but I was told it was near The O2. Little did I realise how near they meant! If you are stood outside the front of The O2 entrance and take a look over your right shoulder, that weirdly geometric texture building right in front of you is it! I can imagine that that would be super cool if I were studying there as the opportunity for work experience would be great for me, wanting to work with fashion in music an all! But I don't think, in fact I know I won't, be choosing Ravensbourne as any of my options since the the interviewer wasn't very welcoming with my ambitions. It went a little something like this:
AngryPants Man: So, Why Fashion Promotion?
RowBow: Because I want to do the styling for musicians when they perform and go on tour.
AngryPants Man: Now I don't know how to say this without sounding rude.. But NO-ONE comes onto a degree, or a fashion promotion to become a stylist! You will never pay off your student load!
He should try telling that to all students of specific Fashion Styling degrees...So maybs that's not really the place for me. But at least I looked cute!
I really love the colour combination I have complied in my look. I've become a beautiful array of candy\barbie colours! But the dark purple dress anchors the look and matures the pink and purples combination. Darker colours add maturity to an outfit. This is also communicated through the black leggings and black boots. I don't think the glittery bits do, but at least they add a little bit of partay to my look!
I kept my make-up and jewellery in following with the pretty in pink vibe. I chose a matt, candy pink lipstick which (colour wise) meets the darker necklace and paler blazer, nicely in the middle. And I added a bracelet for good measure. I chose to make sure I had accessorised more that usual, so that my styling passion came through more. But I left out the rings, as we all know what happens when I slip those bad boys on! Loving that my hair actually played game on the day!
I've been listening to Macklemore's new tune with Ryan Lewis- Ceiling Can't Hold Us, on repeat since Saturday when I first heard it. But when listening to his Thrift Shop song I've found I can personalise into my situation. Particularly with this outfit. Instead of "I wear your Granddad's clothes, I look incredible" I go "I wear children's sized clothes, I look Incredible!" The dress is H&M kids and the Blazer, we all know it Kylie Kids. Oh, and the boots, Kiddie Primarni!
BTW, I got an offer.

Natural History Museum

Hey Guys!
Last week I went to the Natural History Museum and Pitt Rivers in Oxford. They aren't my typical scene, but it was all in the name of art. My current art project is veering towards the theme of death and skeletons. It's the only project where I get to choose the brief and I've ended up in the most un-RowBow territory I could possibly be in!
This is what I wore to the museum. It was quite quiet in the Natural History, because it's basically closed down for repairs this year. But they did have all their bones and bits out. They must have known I was coming. Surprisingly the Pitt Rivers, which is full of shrunken heads and ACTUAL mummies in coffins, was fully of year 3/4 school children! I would have been way too creeped out to go then. I still had to hold on to Mum's hand when walking past the Mummy, because that "ish" is creepy!
I was torn between this mustard yellow jacket, which I've worn quite a bit of late, or my pink version of it. Since the dress has a black background and the lining of this jacket is black I felt this combo worked best. To work with the colourful flowers, I accessorised with a colourful large bead necklace. it needed to be something fairly chunky in order to still be seen against the floral background. I did try separating the 2 bracelet I have, to one on each hand but it looked st rage. Like I was almost covered in jewellery. So I put them both on the same wrist. But that did mean that I could draw freely without bracelets holding me back! Black tights and dollie shoes, Standard! I also whipped out the pretty pink lippy.
Whose noticed my nails?! I've finally painted them since they are really long and pretty now. I did a deep plum base and added a hella lot of sparkles on top of that. Taking it off proved a little trickier than painting it on. The sparkle didn't wanna go! So i think that best way to remover large sparkled nail polish it to apply lots, so it all sticks together then pick it off. It comes off easier in thick layers and it all joins together. But make sure you put a nail booster and base coat on  if you're going to pick it off to try and protect your nails.
I've got good old shuffle on atmo. But I recently caved in an bought 2 tunes by Ben Pryer. He's a new artist on AD Records which may be the workplace of a certain vlogger I watch. Basicals BEn was on it and his tracks were playing around in the background. They aren't what you'd excpect from him, being a cool/awkward 16-20 year old (I have no idea how old), but they're totally up my street.
Say hello to my new buddies little ape, big ape and crouchy ape. (A.K.A Timmy, Miranda and Tyla- He looked like he had some serious swag going on!)

One Direction Infection!

Hey Guys!

Don't worry it's not infectious! HeHe! So here in the U.K it was Comic Relief night on Friday, which is a 7 hour fund raising telethon. It didn't do too badly, raising £75 million this year. Record breaking stuff! Each year there is a single which profits from goes to the Comic Relief Charity. This year it was done by One Direction and guess who got to go to their pre-record at the BBC Friday morning. This girl!! I was actually super excited, but thought I may be one of the older ones there. The age restriction was 16 so thankfully I was one of the crowd! It was super fun and I even managed to catch myself on the tellybox more than once during their performance. Me and my friend had really good standing spots at the front, but unfortunately/fortunately we had a glorious view of their bottoms when they performed on the runway part of the stage. Oh well, at least I got my fix!

This is what I decided to wear. Comic Relief's "colour" is Red, so I fully embraced that with the paper bag waisted red skirt and red lippy. We were waiting outside for over an hour (then told we only made stand-by tickets! But luckily they let us all in) so I dressed warm with thick tights under the leggings and boots. In the piccys I think the cardi looks a little frumpy, but without cardi looks totes amaze. I had to get a little bling in there with the jewelled owl necklace. I pinned my hair back into a bit-up-bit-down style because my hair is prone to frizz. In a studio environment with hotter lighting it defo can't control itself. But by pinning the shorter layers, more prone to expand in size, back it keeps my locks looking lovely!

Some girls were waaayy too OTT and excited. Even Dermot (O'Leary) said they were annoying. Then they bombarded the stage, and the boys face's were like "WTF! HELP ME!". One girl got caught by security and bounced off their arms. I can imagine she suffered a painful winding from that. Then whilst we were exciting from the stage one of the "hooligans" was being ushered past with an important looking person and I noticed she'd appeared to have sliced her had. (I don't know how or on what, there wasn't anything sharp there!) But I let her know that "that's what you get if you decide to be boisterous and jump on stage". But natch, I looked really sweet in this outfit so she'd never have guessed it was me who said it. HeHe!

"One way or another I'm gonna find ya", I found them at the BBC!
Natch, I've got the vid for the song on while I write this. It's so cute! Like me, what a perfect match! HeHe!

UCA Epsom Interview

Hey Guys!
Yesterday I had another Uni interview. I feel soo popular with all these invitations, HeHe! I had absolutely no idea what to wear until the night before, which is unusual for me. I'm normally totally prepared with what to wear at least a week before. Then preparing for the interview questions the night before!
I'm so glad the weather has picked up this week, as it means "Spring has Sprung and my Summer wardrobe wearing has begun!" Yaaay! I feel so much more me in dresses and little silly shoes! I had been eyeing this dress up for the past couple of weeks, but it truly has been too cold to wear it with out other layers covering it up. But today I managed to solider on without even a sneaky top on underneath. Although I did manage to conceal a cropped white cardigan underneath the blazer to keep my arms warm. I find that blazers tend to have a thin, shiny lining which conducts cold air rather well. So the cardi makes sure I stay warmer. The colourful dots on the dress are an injection of the colour loving RowBow into my outfit, so it isn't all black in the sun.
I chickened out of sheer tights and went wooly tights, but one step at a time and all that jazz!
After my last interview wearing jewellery, I chose to keep it simple today and leave the rings at home! Hair up, so that vitamin D can get up close and personal with my face!
I've been listening to: Carly Rae Jepsen Kiss Collection (Turn Me Up, More Than a Memory, Guitar String Wedding Ring, Wrong Feels So Right, Sweetie, Hurt So Good- if you really wanted to know)
Look, I'm in a park. Proof that I left the house!

Middlesex Uni Interview

Hey Guys!
Last Wednesday I had an interview at Middlesex Uni for Fashion Communications and Styling. It sounds really good there are it has the link within fashion that I'm looking for. But I've realsied they weren't very flattering to me in the interview, but they did call me very clever. Which is a bonus if I can trick them into thinking I'm clever, even if they rumbled me not being very "cool".
I chose my black empire line dress, with the Peter-Pan leopard print collar. I realised that I hardly every wear this beautiful creation, so I made an effort to whip it out. I paired it with a mustard jacket that has a black lining so it goes well. The yellow shares tones that are in the collar and then the lining matches thedress. It was super chilly when I was making my way there, so I was glad I wore leggings and boots, but when I came out of the interview it was really sunny and warmer. I felt like a little bit of a div with my coat then!
I wore the dress to work again at the weekend, and this time I remembered the deep purple lipstick, and it totally baffled all the kids. "What's happened to your lipstick?" As if it was broken. "What's that on your lips?" And the best was from a little 4 year old, "Why is your lipstick like that? It looks like a beard!" Gee, thanks kids! That's what I get for making myself look decent in the mornings!
They are cute though, so I'll let them off!
Whilst writing this I've had Carly Rae Jepsen's new single Tonight I'm Getting Over You on REPEAT!
