London Fashion Week: Pack Away Day

Hey Guys!
I have never done so much manual labour in my life! This week was as much about fashion as it was about working on my muscles! I'm sure I'm going to develop pretty hench biceps now. Watchout for my work out DVD, coming to a store near you, HeHe! Also I can see a legs, bums and tums version since I ran up and down the stairs far too many times. I did get a little lazy towards the end and just used the lift, even when I wasn't actually carrying anything. The thing is, buy the time it actually came every time, I could have gone down the stairs. That's how lazy I got!
I chose trousers for this since I didn't mind as much if they got dirty. They kept me warm today as well, since the weather got very chilly today. My hair was not playing game this morning so I scraped it back into a top bun and left it be. Boots were the way forward as I knew I'd be walking all around the huge building many times today.
We had a really interesting talk at the end by one of the people in charge. At the end it was almost inspirational and uplifting. We all thought we could go home on a high, but then he was like "You can go on lunch now, see you in 45 minutes." A little anti-climactic if you ask me.
I made the journey home today with only one extra bag with me. Not bad, usually come home with many bags full of shopping. But one bag of nabbed freebies isn't bad!

London Fashion Week: Last Day Look

Hey Guys!
Super Sad Times! Today was the last day of working at London Fashion Week. Tomorrow is clean up and boring things like that. Today I managed to squeeze 3 dressings in and even got amongst the Made In Chelsea People. Totally in there with them now!
I think the my outfit today looks pretty cool is I'm honest. I think that the combination of the baggy, oversized sweatshirt and rounded skirt works really well to produce and eclectic appearance. I was also really warm whilst also looking fabulous. Bonus!
Dollie shoes two days in a row at the end of a busy week was a mistake though. My feet and lower legs hurt now after an 11-hour shift! But I'm sure a good nights sleep will sort that out.

London Fashion Week: Recycling a Previous Look

Hey Guys!
I realise how bad I've been at posting daily. And also, how confusing this may appear as I back date these last few look posts. I think it's important to keep posting these London Fashion Week entries on the days they reflect, so when we all look back in the future we can remember what day I am reflecting upon. "Today" I dressed for Eugene Lin. His backstage organiser person was super organised and said we should "tweet that out" because she had previously been told that last year. But I don't know her twitter or name so that made it a little tricky. The patterened pieces were soo cool. I'm thinking of saving my pennies and nabbing one of his coats. Although by the time I have enough money, many more season will have pasted I expect!
This look I changed tops and tights from a previous look. I exchanged a longer sleeved, lower neck t-shirt for a higher neckline, short (cap) sleeve t-shirt. I wore textured, thick tights with this look on Friday but here I have chosen plain, thick black tights.
I have tried my hair back. This and the removal of the black sleeves makes for a lighter look and more of my beautiful pale skin is on show. Love looking like an uncooked chicken!

London Fashion Week: Front Desk Fashions

Hey Guys,
Today I swapped backstage for Front of House. I was helping at some International Reception with tea and croissants. And thought that I usually get paid decently for waitressing, I'm not doing it for free. So I went to cover the front desk. It was quite fun as I felt really in charge, even though the normal girl was still there. I finished early today but still ended up staying later to help my friend and the rest of the Front of House team. I'm now a Pro-GoodybagMaker and box flattner. Oh, the glamour of London Fashion Week!
This is what I wore, since I knew it would be a short day and I probs wouldn't get very hot. I wore a large black sweatshirt and leggings. underneath the jumper, so I didn't totally roast I wore a thin black vest top. Although I was a thermal one, so it got a little warm when commuting. The jumper is a kids age 15-16 jumper. It said unisex so I thought it would be a good fit. But when I collected it I foudn the lable said BOYS. oh well, oversized items will always be cool. (I hope!)
Neat Tip: When working at an event as intense and on your feet as LFW change your shoes every day. This will stop our feet from aching as you change pressure every day. It works. Tried and tested by RowBow. Unfortunately it won't heal so-painful-you-have-to-walk-like-an-old-lady-slash-robot-legs. But every little helps!
I left my glasses on for the piccy, so I look a little nerdy. But hey, it's just my true self being exposed!

London Fashion Week: Dressing for Dressing

Hey Guys,
I decided to dress my look up a little since my face looks so tired. I hoped a pretty dress would distract form the monstrosity that my face has become. I also feel a lot better when I put on a pretty outfit, so it eased the pain of my legs and tiredness. I think it was the lifting from the lunch run yesterday and lifting benches from day 1 that really took it out of my legs and replaced it with pain!
This dress is actually my sisters, but it's very short. Then again so is she, so I can imagine it looks more dress like. What are sisters empty rooms and wardrobes there for if not to snoop? Since it was a little indecent, I teamed the dress with black leggings. I don't think it looks too shody. Pairing anything with leggings gives a more relaxed vibe so makes it suitable for this kind of work. Some girls are taking the "fashion" part of the week seriously and wearing pretty impractical shoes and looks. I'm there to do a good job, and if i can attempt to look good, well then, that's a bonus! I think that the actual dress code is really relaxed. The all black thing has gone pretty caj and gold jewellery is now a staple. But one designer told us to take off ALL jewellery so we didn't catch anything on the clothes during quick changes. If fact, she wasn't even a designer. She was a "leader of the group" figure. Stressy woman indeedy!
Sha-pow!

London Fashion Week: Busy, Busy, Busy First Day

Hey Guys!
Today was my first official day working at London Fashion Week! Exciting times! I wanted to look pretty, fashionable and as if I actually had the credentials to work there. Defo a fave within the group, everybody is calling me Babes. But then that appears to be the lingo around here, it feels sooo cool. I managed to spend my lunch hour running back and forth between location and POD doing the lunch run. Not quite the fashion dressing, but I'm sure the rest of the week
I went for a cropped sleeve top, jacquard skirt, thick tights.A little unusual for me but I teamed the jacquard skirt, which is textured, with some knitted style tights, which has a verticle texture. I don't s'pose anybody really noticed, but I thought I looked pretty fly! HeHe!
Ta-Dah!

London Fashion Week: Briefing and Benches

Hey Guys!
So I've realised that I hadn't mentioned it to you yet, but guess where I am? (Clue: Title of the post) I've made it to London Fashion Week. I'd like to thank my Mum and Dad, my friends and most importantly you guys! HeHe! Unfortunately I'm not debuting my latest collection, I'm actually "interning" which sounds slightly more glamorous than volunteering. But I can assure you it's not. I've spent my whole day picking up benches and moving them into one room to be painted. Then back again to set them up as seats for peeps.  But I suppose that's what I signed up for being part of the Backstage team, as I am.
This is what I wore to the briefing and I hope to keep you updated every day on what I wear. But the only downside is that it is a strictly all black dress code. And I couldn't bring my whole wardrobe since I'm staying at a friends house. But I'll try not repeat my looks.
I've tested the water a little with this pink and black peplum top. I love the shape of it since it is quite a long peplum, which I'm sure isn't really that noticeable  But I find it pretty tricky to find a peplum top that sits right on me. Sad Times! Standard leggings combination for the day since I didn't really know what we'd be doing.
I've got a "little excited me photo" and "urgh I'm tired end of day" photo. Who knew lifting benches and walking backwards would tire me out so much?

In other news, I've got a twitter account especially for London Fashion Week. Who knows how direct from backstage it will be since I haven't been able to connect to the internet on site yet. We'll see. Check me out @RowBowK .

Solent Uni Interview

Hey Guys!
Last Saturday I had an interview at Southampton Solent for Fashion Promotion and Communication. Fancy! This is the outfit that I wore. I didn't feel over dressed because a girl who goes to my current Uni was in her tweed blazer so we both looked pretty smart. There was a little group of 6 of us having 15 minute interviews one after the other. So having been told I was going to be there 5-10 minutes, that turned into 2 hours! But I think it went really well and the lady seemed really impressed that I was so passionate about what I know I want to do in the future. But they were meant to get back to me by Tuesday, and it's now Thursday so...
The black lace top is actually a dress which was too big when I was originally given it. But now I appear to have grown and it's turned into a bit of a bum-skimmer. Although I did have my black thermal underneath, so maybs it would sit better without that. The skirt was originally part of a dress, but for my most recent art project I took the top and bottom half of the dress apart. It was a size 12, so it was just the right bagginess to paper bag waist it with a medium sized tan belt. I adore the necklace. It's a golden spiked necklace with red wooden beads around the back. That was a charity shop find, initially for the art project but I love it so much I'm keeping it for me! I think it was like £2-£3 so total barg! Black tights and dollies shoes were simple additions to the look so the red skirt stands out and makes for a more dramatic look. But tan tights would make it lighter for a summer look.
Loving a little bit of pale red lippy, since I haven't worn lippy for so long! I miss it!
NIGHTMARE! After  the interview we drove of a few miles to find this park to take the photos in. But as I was getting out of the car I realised that I'd left my ring neck to the sink in the loos at the Uni. Silly sausage! So we had to race back to get it since it was a lovely ring from a family I babysit. It wasn't a Primarni purchase I know that's for sure! So I legged it to the loos (dodging the student ambassadors trying to convince me I was here for the interview I'd just had) and... I found it! I was literally about to have a panic attack if it wasn't there. That's how miffed I was. I've decided that although the ring-bracelet combo pieces of jewellery are a glamorous addition to an outfit. Really they are for people like me who need baby reigns on their rings!
Songs that made the post: Tyler James- Worry About You (Tuunnneee!) and Nick Jonas- Critical (Alright I'm having a little disney star fest atm. Give me a mo, I'm sure it will pass!)

Such a lovely sunny day!

P.S Say hello to my little friend (the doggie in the picture). I've decided that she looks like a Polly, and she defo thought I looked hot. She came for a cuddle but I was in a little bit of a tizz about my ring!

Work that Leopard Print, Sista!

Hey Guys!
I've been Busy, Busy, Busy recently! But I have started back at work, so look out for more dazzlers that I wear to work!
This was my first day back after the Christmas holidays, outfit. I love the dress! Especially since it's got the leopard print collar AND pockets, I'm such a lucky girl! It's a Primark pleaser. I saw it last Autumn and thought £10 was a little steep for a simple shift dress. So natch, I waited for the sales and found the last dress which happened to be in my size for a fiver! Bonus! I've teamed it with a black cardigan and black leggings, since it was around the time the snow was just melting it's way out. I think that my sherling boots go so well with the dress since the furry lining matches the appeal of the pocket and collar lining.
When I brought home the dress, obvz, I gave a little catwalk in it. When showing my Dad he said, "Didn't you buy one exactly like that last week, with a leopard print collar?" I'm pretty impressed he remembered I bought the other one. But that was a black empire line, tie waist Peter Pan leopard print collar. Completely different, Honestly!
I love my hair in the second picture. I think that it looks really long and the curls are super pretty, even if I do say so my self. It's a little windswept too.
Thanks to Steph, who I work with, for taking my lovely piccys. Sneaky little tip: Think of dirty thought when having a photo taken, because it will give you a twinkle in your eye. Steph taught me that, but of course I'm faaarrr to innocent to think of dirty thoughts! HeHe!

I miss Top Tunes Tuesday, but I want to focus on the fashion elements of this blog. So to keep the musical vibes grooving, I'm going to let you know which tracks kept me bopping along whilst writing this blog. This post was written to Selena Gomez and the Scene: Sick of You and Justin Bieber: Yellow Raincoat. Both too darn catchy for their own good!
