Pink Pairing

Hey Guys!

I'm not gonna lie, I've never really bought into the bodysuit thing. Peeing is my number one concern when thinking about the practicalities of wearing one. However, I have ventured into uncharted territory with this pink all-in-one, purely out of curiosity and research purposes... It's a knitted fabric so it's v v toasty considering it has gaping lace up detailing down the front. I'll give it to you the tucked in shirt look is far neater with said bodysuit, you're always photo ready which is never a bad thing! My skirt is a little Primark find and you'll never believe it, but the long boots are from ShoeZone. I knew they were the go-to for basic shoes when all else fails, but they have seriously upped their game. Style points for you ShoeZone, you're welcome! *clapping hands emojis*

Lattice Love

Hey Guys!

I never realised how much blue I had in my wardrobe until someone pointed it out to me in this outfit! It does get a bit intense when I have my blue coat, blue handbag, blue jeans and blue overnight bag- perhaps I should retire the bags...

This belt is my new fave because I feel, 'Oh so Kendall Jenner circa Coachella 2015', when she had that cropped off-the-shoulder top and black skirt with slits. Okay, so this look is a bit different from that but I'm talking belt vibes here! The top has lattice (lace-up) details all the way down the sides and the thread dangles loose against the uber wide bell sleeves. I never wear the boots out, but they were a £4 find from Primark so it would be pretty darn easy to get a wicked cost per wear from them when I finally choose to walk a mile in these shoes.

Nothing Rhymes With Orange

Hey Guys!

Ok, so we're all aware that Red is THE colour of the AW17 season but just at the end of Summer I felt orange was having a sneaky moment, so I shot this look. Then I totally forgot about it... Awks... Ah well, I'll cover my tracks calling this a personal style blog instead of fashion and hope nobody notices. Good idea, right?!

I think monochrome, colour blocking is really satisfying to look at so this outfiit is right up my street. Feel free to send suggestions about to where to wear this as I'm not sure it's quite right for a quick trip to Tesco. The woolly jumper is a little over sized and baggy, so slicked back hair and simple make up allowed for all attention to be on the shape and texture of it. My barnet could have quick happily out-frizzed the sweater it's just not a style I'm keen to flaunt yet! There's a clash of textures between the top and skirt, so pairing with simple trainers means you're not adding another element with some intricate heels or the like.

I'd like to finish with a shout out to the earrings. Damn, I'm feeling fierce and fabulous with this lions hanging from my lobes (hmmm, that sounds a little dodgy, oops!).

I'm Late for School!

Hey Guys!

So this was going to be a back to school post but since the first term is almost over I kinda missed that boat, didn't I?! Oops... I spent so long trying to get fancy eye shadow the school bus left without me, haha! I was literally that girl at college #sorrynotsorry!

The lovely girls from Mi Pac sent me a super glittery back pack for work and I thought it would be rude not to share. The rose gold tone is packed with teenie tiny silver glittering sparkles. I've matched the pale colour of the bag with my new pastel tie-dye dress from ASOS and lovely lilac socks. I'm a big fan of socks and heels, probably because it's quite a schooly kind of trend. Although I wasn't wearing heels this high back then...

For the more observant amongst us, yes my hair is purple. My hair is so dark it's v v subtle, but I totally HEART it!

Nice Nails with Jamberry

Hey Guys!

As I'm slowly getting back into this blogging business, I'm starting to try and find more people to collab with. Today I'm working with Laila, a Jamberry independent consultant. She sent me some snazzy samples and I'm gonna show you how easy they are to use! I mean if I can't even mess this up, the odds are in your favour!

Jamberry is the Aladdin's cave of nail products, including do-it-yourself nail wraps. With the prettiest of designs, products that are in it for the long haul and prices that won't send you into your overdraft, what more could you want? Oh a tutorial and review... Well, yeah, sure I can help with that!

I've decided to try one of the lovely samples and put it through the seven day challenge. I'm not gonna lie, I've started on the hardest day with hair washing, tyre pressure checking, baking and washing up all happening today. But if the nail wraps can make it through today they'll fly through the rest of the week!

I've chosen to road test the middle striped design, against a regular Model's Own nail polish. I've put each competitor on either hand and let battle commence. But how did I get here? Laila sent everything I'd need to preen my nail for a striped accent design. After attending to any cuticle sitch and buffing your nail, clean with an alcohol wipe.

Then warm up your chosen Jamberry nail wrap with a hair drier, or I used the oven- works the same right? Once flexible stick onto your nail and rub down into place. Apply a gentle heat and rub again until all the bumps are gone.

Simply trim off any excess and file to neaten up the edges, and voila! You've got yourself an intricate nail design in literally seconds! (plz don't judge me for the gel nail growth, #stillcutetho)

I'll check back in with you next week to let you know how I got on...

7 DAY UPDATE:

So first thing you'll see is that the Jamberry nail wrap outlasted 3 week old gel nails, which is always a plus (that'll teach me for being really lazy and not taking them off before started this!)! There was one time I started picking at the nail wrap because it felt like another gel nail, but a quick zap with the hair dryer smoothed it right down. Good sign it felt like solid gel nail though, right?!

The pale blue nail polish on my other hand actually lasted so much better than nail polish normally does for me. So although it only has minimal chipping, it had gone all cracked and kind dirty around the tips. I think that's because my nails are so weak and bendy and the nail polish just wasn't made to flex like that!

If you're desperate to see you can click on the images for closer inspection. But just take my word that the Jamberry nail wrap was here to stay and I reckon could have done longer than 7 days actually!

Forever Enchanted

Hey Guys!

So I might have taken these photos all the way back in March when the actual Beauty and the Beast film came out... But now the DVD has just come out so, y'know, #stillrelevant! This Disney inspired slogan top is from Minkpink on ASOS. They had a whole Beauty and the Beast collection of items that were actually #goals. I totally heart eye emoji'd over the yellow lace dress that was mean to reflect Belle's yellow ballgown. But I kept my spending in check and just got this slogan tee. I don't have many basic style tees, where as I have enough dresses to style a nation! Sometimes I'll wear this top with a gingham midi skirt which is a girlier way to style it up.

I wouldn't usually wear a bejazzled bandana around my neck on a regular trip to the river, but it adds a little edge to this otherwise simple outfit. FYI, the jeans are ASOS own brand and they are sooo comfy and fit & flatter like a dream. Yeah buddy!

Uh-huh, Hun-ey

Hey Guys!

I've now done a full year in my very first full time office job, and have decided Summer is the hardest time for a smart-caj vibe. I've given up and just go full blown caj. I have 100% flashed the buns and the butt to most of my co-workers by accident on more than one occasion. I can't help it- I'm use less in this heat!

One thing I do reach for on sticky summer days are my culottes. This pretty polka pair look great with an off-the-shoulder tee (I'm not and never will be ready to give up this trend!). This striped number is from Warehouse and the cuff details are just that extra little summin' summit' I crave in a 'smart' look so I don't blend into the crowd.
