Read My Slogan

Hey Guys!

I don't want to peak too early, but I think I've found my hero item for this summer! This gingham skirt is the stuff of dreams with the graphic print and lightweight, swishy fabric. The shape is wide and circular with a paper bag-effect waist. I've swapped out the fabric belt that it came with for a tan belt which is a neutral tone to bring the bright top and dark skirt together.

I've rolled up the sleeves on the t-shirt because it was a little too baggy for me. But I think the wide sleeves balance with the wide shape of the skirt. I'm not usually one for any sort of print on a top, but I think slogan tops are so cool right now! I'm easing myself into the trend with this vivid yellow one, haha!

Embroider Me

Hey Guys!

You could throw anything with the slightest detail of embroidery at me, and I would put it on in a heartbeat! I'm not one to accessorise with patches and actually up-cycle something myself (#lazy!), but if it comes with a dashing sewn on floral design it's all mine. Tucking any top into mom jeans (these ones are a Glamourous find) is always a good idea and off the shoulder tops look great with EVERYTHING. Am I right? For a smart, city style, roll up your jeans and pair with a heeled something. This tone of blue is screaming to be worn with a chunky tan belt and this one from Next is going to last me a lifetime. It matches my Kylie Lip Kit (Ginger in case you were wondering!) perfectly.

Doused in Denim

Hey Guys!

There are three Spring Summer trends I am all about this season. Embroidery, Gingham and Denim are the only terms I'm searching during my regular online window shopping breaks. This look I've dared to flaunt a little serving of double denim. Personally, I am 100% here for double denim. Splitting the outfit into a light half and dark half is the way to ease your unconvinced self into the trend. It's when we start limiting the look to one blue and adding rips, frays & a denim cowboy hat we start straying Justin and Britney territory. But then again, why wouldn't you want to do that because that golden couple were #goalz, before it was even a thing!

I kept hair and make up super simple for this sunny day. Of course, I've covered my fave in Kylie Jenner products à la the Ginger lip kit and her holiday palette on the eyes.

Aye, Aye Sailor!

Hey Guys!

This springtime sunshine has got me like, 'yaaaaasss, let's go take some blog photos!'

Here's a little taster of what I wear to work. I started my first, like, actual real life, adult job about 9 months ago. It's your regular 9 to 5 in an office in London so it's a little different from bundling around theatre group in a princess tiara! This outfit is one of my plainer looks, I have to admit. But I'm feeling like a chic Parisian sailor and I like it! Before you ask, no it's not a fake tan accident. It's a 'balls, I can't find any tights and I've got to go in 5. Ah, these will do' kinda accident! My trainers are from Bershka and were a snippet of the price compared to Adidas Originals. #gottaloveadiscount

Now that I'm growing my fringe out, these centre partings are SO much easier to do with a little hairspray and a few handy grips. Of course I'm wearing Kylie Cosmetics on my lips in Mary Jo K. If you've seen my Instagram you'll know I HEART a Kylie Lip Kit (or two)!

Mumma Knows Best: Dress Down Friday

Hey Guys!

The rumours are true. This is the last in my current series of 'Mumma Know Best' #cryanddie! Notice how I've said current... It would appear Mumma Bow is pretty keen to do this again with my summer wardrobe because she found my winter clothes, 'far too limiting!' Alright you little fashionista, chill down over there!

Little did I know that Mumma had been planning this look since day 1. I'm gonna come out and say it, despite my happy little face in the pictures below, I strongly dislike this outfit (hate is a song work, y'know...). If I'm honest, I might wear this when I'm slobbing out and NO ONE would see me. Instead, Mumma thought this time the whole word should see it! Let me just flick to 'sabotage' in the dictionary... Coloured leggings make me think of that awkward stage in secondary school when your skinny jeans are in the wash, so you choose leggings, but you're trying to be an individual so pick up the funky colours ones. Cringe! The only highlight for me is the pretty pink, sparkly headscarf. It's from India and I never wear it, so at least Mumma managed 1 part cute... to 4 parts grim.

Mumma Knows Best: Smarten Up

Hey Guys!

Day 4 of Mumma Bow dresses Row Bow and we've hit the home straight! I'm feeling a smart/caj office wear kinda vibe from Mumma Bow's styling choices today.

As I write this post I have realised that I am just a mini me of Mumma in this look! The funky print, chiffon shirt paired with a spankly necklace and dark trousers is a classic combo for her. I feel like I've gone back to my 2013/14 days here with a bold print clashing again a cute hair accessory. Although I am still a fan of the look, especially the colour pallet with cool blue and purple tones. I like the warmer purple lipstick and how it balances the colour scheme. I wasn't sure about the open shoes and frilly white socks combo, there's something very school child about it. But y'know what, in reality I'm not that offended by it.

Cor, I gotta get back in the swing of how to write an actually helpful blog post. I've become too used to putting, 'so cute!' and that's it at work!

Mumma Knows Best: Summer Vibes

Hey Guys!

Spoiler alert: This is definitely my favourite look from this series!

Mumma Bow nailed it on the one day a little sunshine came out. I can tell she's a much bigger fan of my Summer wardrobe than my Winter pieces. I'm feeling major Italian D&G vibes from this look, especially with the jazzy skirt and head bow. As soon as I walked into the office people were very vocal about how much they loved the skirt! It's from M&S would you believe it? I'm not usually an avid M&S shopper but, y'know, I'll go wherever the trends take me! I'd love to tell you where you can pick up everything in the look. But truth be told, you'd be disgusted at how cheap I am when it comes to buying clothes. So we'll just enjoy the styling today. M-kay? Kl kl...

Check out my nails! They were all dolled up for a shoot at work, so we've got clouds on one hand (which go well with this look) and cute love hearts on the other hand. Totes adorbs! Of course I've got more Kylie Jenner shadows over my eye lids and a Maybelline Electric Orange lipstick. I've not worn it in aaaages, but it's pretty lovely, right?

Mumma Knows Best: Kissy Kissy

Hey Guys!

Here we go with day 2 of Mumma Bow dressing Row Bow!

Today's look is a complete 180 switch up compared to yesterday's pretty, girly attire. I've even chucked on one of Mumma's tops under the dungarees because I'm just not used to facilitating such a dark colour palette. Don't get me wrong I totally ♥ my dungarees and lip print shirt, but together I feel like I've got smart/caj to an extreme all up on me! Mumma was insistent on having the shirt tucked in but out at the sides. She's learnt from the best, it's all in the deets. Just not these deets...

With my hair down you can actually see my hair cut which I wanted to parade about the office on Monday. Not gonna lie the hairdressers' pizzazz has definitely disappeared somewhere on the way into work... Foolishly, I thought having a cute lob cut and curls would achieve an effortless Lucy Hale look. But then my frizz came back all, 'Hey, so I'm still a thing!' Today I've spread some browns from BarryM's Super natural pallet across my eyelids and coloured in my lips with the Tarte liquid lipstick in a shade I believe is called Manbun. Huh...

On a totally unrelated note: it's quite fitting that (although a week or so late) this look looks quite Valentine's-y with the kisses and hearts. Why? Because What Row Chose... was a whole 5 years old just after V-day. My first post was on a look from a Galentine's (still trying to make that a thing!) day out. Do I start singing Circle of Life now or...?

Mumma Knows Best: The Beginning

Hey Guys!

Say whaaa? Row Bow's back at this blogging business? Gurl, r u 4 realz? Yes. Yes, I am...

Ok so it's been a while and I won't bore you with where I've been instead I'm gonna jump straight into a new series here on What Row Chose... I was reading this post on Marie Claire and thought d'ya know what? I'm gonna give that a go! I'm gonna let my Mum dress me for a whole week. Nine months ago, that would have meant perhaps nipping to the shops one day and dropping into uni for an hour another day but basically no one would see me apart from my housemates. Say hello to 2017 Row Bow though, because this girl's got an actual job. So this experiment is a pretty brave choice considering a butt-load of actual people would see me at the platform, on the train and mingling around the office. I thought Hannah's mum (from the original post) had some pretty snazzy looks in store for her daughter and reckoned my Mumma Bow could be just as creative.

So here I present day 1...

I know right, this is something I could actually have chosen myself. Apart from the fact Mumma chose a night out skirt for a bright February day, I think it's a pretty cute look. When I read her the weather for the day being 13 degrees she went straight for the thin cotton, off the shoulder summer dress... I really wanted to do this experiment justice but I also didn't want to freeze to death! This pretty pink combination is much better and marginally warmer. Even the details of my make were chosen by Mumma Bow, with pinks from Kylie Jenner's holiday pallett on my lids and Kylie Jenner's Maliboo liquid lip kit on my lips. Kylie fan? Me? Never!

Irresistible Me, Irresistible You

Hey Guys!

(Let's just totally gloss over the fact I haven't posted since November...)

I was sooo excited when the fabulous Adriana from Irresistible Me got in contact. Irresistible Me have the most amazing collection of Hair Extensions with clip ins, pony tails, just highlights, full wigs... That list goes on and on! Lucky little Row Bow chose to add some Silky Touch extensions to her luscious locks. Adriana was such a babe and helped me choose the medium brown colour because I literally spent 20 minutes watching and re-watching the helpful video and STILL couldn't decide! The product took about a week to process, then a week to get shipped over to sunny ol' England. It just might have taken me a liiiiittle bit longer to actually get round to posting since they arrived when I was working at London Fashion Week, then I went out to Paris for a week, then took a week off ill... #ExcusesExcuses!

The extensions come in the cutest little black box, and inside a plastic pouch. Obvz you open the smaller pouch to check you got the right colour, and if you do you go on and jump right it decorating your scalp with the tiny extension clips. When I straighten my hair it reveals itself to be a lot thinner than you'd expect, so I used all but two of the pieces provided. I have literally no idea what I'm doing when it comes to these clip-ins, but I put the thickest one at the bottom and built up to the top finishing with the smaller clips. They are sooo nice and easy to style with my straighteners! They are made from 100% human Remy hair. These Silky Touch extensions were a great way to for beginner Row get started with. I went with clips that were 20 inch in length, which I thought was going to be a bit short afterwards. But they just skim my waist- Per-fect! They blend in so well too.

I wanted to make sure these images were better than a rushed 'against a white wall' shoot. So I dragged my 'very willing' housemate, Hannah, down to the park to get some cute pics to show of the transformation of my hair. You'd never guess 50 meters from where I'm stood is the busiest 3-lane main road ever!

What do you think of my new Irresistible Me hair extensions?
